Well my team the defending National Football league Champions were eliminated from the playoffs yesterday..I am so proud that they won the Championship against all odds in 2005 and it just was not in the cards to repeat this year...........

I don't know why but I have always despised them... That SBgame last year was very controversial thanks to refs. However they were a good team then or obviously they would not have made it there.
I like Jax but they got a bad call yesterday while staging a last minutes come from behind. Thus clinching the AFC east title for NE... The other team I dislike.

I think most NFL fans have realized by now that last year was simply a fluke for the Steelers. They barely made the playoffs, then pulled off four in a row (with help from the referees and a bit of luck). And the Steelers don't suck this year because they lost Bettis, because he really wasn't a crucial part of the team. The fact is that the Steelers aren't a very good team, and any team can go on a hot streak to win the Super Bowl.

Yeah right, I suppose the refs let Willie Parker make the longest run in SB history and let ARL throw that touchdown pass to Hines Ward.........

I live in the Seattle area and am so tired of hearing people here whine......

Get a clue, get over it, you lost and the Steelers played their worse game in the playoffs...........

I personally believe that as Super Bowl Champs 2006, *Pittsburg Steelers should always be adorned with an asterisk.

What this proves is that the Steelers suck, and would not have won the Super Bowl were it not for cheating ref's trying to make sure whichever team has the best story won the Super Bowl. You weren't even a playoff calliber team last year, and your performance this year proves it.

Anyone who watched the Super Bowl with even the slightest amount of objectivity will tell you that the Steelers did not win the Super Bowl, the Steelers and the refs ganged up to beat the Seahawks. The Colts and Broncos would've lost to anyone, the Browns could've won the Super Bowl in those conditions.

Eat your heart out Gal.......

Nobody said the Steelers didn't make any good plays last year. But the fact is that the refs made some controversial (and a few obviously fake) calls in the Super Bowl.

So what? I live in St. Louis, not Seattle. And I don't think Galen lives in Seattle either, but I could be wrong. It seems to me that the whole country (except for Steelers fans) realize that the refs made bad calls in the Super Bowl. And if you think that we're all saying these things because we're from Seattle then you're wrong.

Get a clue, get over it, you lost and the Steelers played their worse game in the playoffs...........

Yep, Seahawks lost the game. That's a fact. Steelers played like crap. That's true too. But if you're unwilling to talk about how bad the Steelers are then why did you start this thread? I mean, really, there is nothing good about the Steelers to talk about! They weren't good last year and they aren't good this year.

I'm not saying that winning 4 playoff games in a row is no accomplishment. However, luck definitely helped (like Nick Harper tripping during his end-of-game fumble recovery or hurting Carson Palmer) and the refs didin't hurt either (see Super Bowl threads).

I actually started the thread to talk about this year.......Last year is history as are our 5 super bowls in 6 trips................

Yeah, but you seem to forget that the Steelers are bad this year. They stink. And I was just mentioning that this year is no surprise since they were bad last year too. (I know they won the Super Bowl, but that doesn't mean they were a good team!)

Good for you! The Steelers stink this year. I think the reason is that they didn't get anyone really good over the offseason and I don't think they were a very good team going into the offseason. That's my point, that they stink because they stunk last year and nothing's changed.

Thank you, Apostle, I completely agree. But the NFL denies the mistakes (except for one) and I don't think it will happen. I just hope everyone remembers what happened and the NFL makes sure that it doesn't happen again.

1. They had a bad year.....I will give you that.....Turnovers killed them........

2. They don't usually pay a lot of money to free agents every year..........Their first round pick Santonio Holmes has played very well.......

You can knock them all you want about the officiating but the NFL came out after the SB and said the refs officiated a good game...This **** about bad officiating is just sour grapes by poor losers.....

To win the SB the Steelers had to win 8 straight games 4 games on the road......Something that has never been done before...........

Of course the NFL is going to back them up, nobody wants to admit their mistakes if they think they can weasel out of them. And as I said before, it's not just the Seahawks fans that say that the officiating was bad. I bet over 50% of NFL fans would admit that the refs made some bad calls.

But they put themselves in that situation by losing early on in the year. The Steelers weren't put at a disadvantage or anything. It was their own faults that they had to go 4 in a row before the playoffs. And it's a great accomplishment to win 8 in a row, but I just think that the Steelers were never a very good team. The Seahawks won 11 in a row and didn't win the Super Bowl. And they weren't the best team, either. The Colts were. The Steelers won the Super Bowl, but they definitely weren't the best team and I don't think they were ever very good. That's why everyone was so surprised that they won.

Allow me to settle this. Both the steelers and the seahawks both suck this year. There steelers didnt make the playoffs and the seahawks are only making it because their entire division is an absolute disgrace to the NFL, yet somehow they manage to lose to arizona and san fran.

Haha yeah they both suck. But as I say, the Hawks have the talent, they just aren't getting it done. And that game against the Chargers showed that they CAN beat even the best team in the NFL. They just need to execute.

As for the Steelers, they were hopeless from the beginning of the year.

Well, I agree with the bold. That game against SD should of been a win for you guys. Even though SD is arguably the best team in the NFL, they played like a pop warner team that game with all those dropped passes and bad throws. Brees started out 0/9. LT didnt score a TD.... just bad performance compared to their norm.

Steelers started real bad but started to change their ways with a couple good wins. I dunno, either way I stand by the opinion they both stink  better luck next season.

Most important stat in football is turnovers....The Steelers lead the league......When they did not turn the ball over they won......

Seahawks are in the weakest conference and division in the NFL.....The re is not excuse for losing twice to the Niners and to Arizona....

Ehh... as bad as the NFC West is, the NFC North is worse. The Vikings Packers and Lions are jokes for NFL teams at the moment. And this is coming from a Viking fan.

Put your money on any AFC team in the SB.......The NFC is terrible......

And there's no excuse for the Steelers losing to Oakland and getting shut out by both Jacksonville and Baltimore. I mean come on, at least Seattle puts up a fight!

Yeah you're probably right about the Chargers having a bad game, but it seems like the Seahawks are starting to turn things around with the win vs. Tampa. Yeah, it was Tampa Bay, but it was still a win and now they've got some confidence. I predict a win against Dallas next Saturday. I don't think we can beat the Saints unless New Orleans has a bad game, so I think Seattle will go down next round.

Absolutely... at this point, even the Chiefs would probably beat the Bears or Saints.

Agreed. NFC North is second worst.
