This is a common theme amongst many law enforcement officers across the country.
Look no furthur than Baltimore to get an idea of how police are giving the vocal group of Americans (the news media and the attention they give those in social media) exactly what they want.
They want to support and excuse criminal activity while over analyzing split second decisions made by officers in dangerous situations...... they'll get an increase in crime when Officers are not willing to be under that microscope.
If you think Football Analysts are bad on Mondays.......... they are nothing compared to those who second guess every action an officer makes in a dangerous situation with a lack of the full collection of information that those in the media benefit from when they put every officer citizen contact on blast all over Cable news.
Bull****. He's using that as an excuse to justify why he got physically bested. Maybe he should hit the gym.A Birmingham, Alabama, police detective who was pistol-whipped unconscious said Friday that he hesitated to use force because he didn't want to be accused of needlessly killing an unarmed man.
"A lot of officers are being too cautious because of what's going on in the media," said the officer, who asked to remain anonymous for the safety of his family. "I hesitated because I didn't want to be in the media like I am right now."

Any evidence to support this absolute bull**** statement? If this cop were confronted with a child or a person not resisting then this cop wouldn't hesitate to shoot.

Time for a lot of cops to retire. Many cops around the country feel like this officer. They have all but given up on doing their jobs out of fear of the lynch mobs the Media and the Left have organized against police since Michael Brown.

This police officer is commendable, because he actually did his job in serving the community. He protected the public, and he didn't murder someone. Which is a pretty low bar, but that's exactly what the police should do for the community. So, you find that an acceptable way of enforcing the law? A MMA match? If the criminal wins he gets to get away scott free?? I dont. The law should win. Every time. Whatever it takes.
Police that shoot people should be forcibly retired. Why even bother having a police force since they only shoot good people and Michael brown was a saint. We need more upstanding citizens like him right?

Not to mention that the law did win out in the end. The suspect was later arrested. Sans homicide!

The government should not have the power to kill people. Full stop.Because there is no such thing as a justified shooting? Are you for or against citizens having firearms?
This absolutely proves that there are ignorant people in this country who believe it is the job of good police officers to go out and take a beating from criminals. This police officer is commendable, because he actually did his job in serving the community. Rather I think it shows how you crave and enjoy violence. How great is it that your praised cause is the number of funerals we can precipitate. This absolutely proves that there are ignorant people in this country who believe it is the job of good police officers to go out and take a beating from criminals.
Most modern democracies count less than several hundred SHOTS per year fired by their police. So police should never shoot a person ever? Another example of how there are morons out there that think police should be sacrificial lambs. God damned disgusting.

... but I'm sure you'd reject such a noble cause.
I value the lives of Law Enforcement personnel more than the criminal element of society. I support any shooting of a criminal suspect threatening the lives of law enforcement officers. Just because law enforcement stop shooting and killing criminals threatening them will not mean that criminals will stop trying to kill law enforcement. It will only encourage them to do it more.Rather I think it shows how you crave and enjoy violence. How great is it that your praised cause is the number of funerals we can precipitate.

If that is all it took because fewer people were trying to kill them or cause serious bodily injury, then I would support it.

Don't forget "untrained" when referring to those analysts.

My guess is that the officer probably had at least two other weapons he could have used to kill that asshole, but that wouldn't fit your continual "Hate the police" narrative would it?
