A few years back I was into two different video games around the same time. One was Age of Empires 2, a strategy civ game with cavalry armies and such. The other game was Capitalism 2, trying to beat out your competitors in the business world. I’m under no illusions that video games are an accurate and detailed representation of reality. Bear with me, this is the short version…
Playing Capitalism 2, I got frustrated at how long one of the competitors was holding on, at one point I almost clicked to send my cavalry from Age of Empires after him, just sabotage a couple of his farms and factories, I can choke him off in the department stores with some drastic price reductions… You son of a bitch, you’re goin’ DOWNNNnnn if I have to stay up till 4 o’clock, charge you and everyone else an arm and a leg for your pots to piss in, mwwuuhhaaahhha… Look out Sultan of Brunei, I’m topping the Billionaire’s list in an hour… you stubborn jag off... They should let you have a ‘dirty tricks’ department in this game. I just want to knock him off, jack up the prices, find out how much I can milk this bitch for and go to bed…
I was rich for so long, did everything I could do with the money, bought out all the stockholders for exorbitant amounts… It wasn’t even about the money anymore. I owned everything except a tiny worthless little competitor who was dying, but annoyingly struggling to hang on without a hope in hell, ****ing up my plans of as much domination as you can milk from the game. Otherwise, what’s the point of playing? I want my money’s worth… If they had armies in the game, I’d have used them on that prick competitor. But that’s what Civ 4 was for…
Along with other research, and a taste of games like that, it wasn’t hard to see how corruption takes hold, how ‘Capitalism’ is the perfect engine for it. There’s armies and ‘dirty tricks’ departments in the real world too... I would bet a nut that if you asked any ethics ‘expert’ about business ethics, they’ll tell you the two words don’t even fit in the same sentence – it’s impossible, flying pig impossible, no such thing, buyer beware…
Would you tell your customer to go to the competitor for the better quality, cheaper item? If you have to put a family-run business out of commission to meet your expansion goals to please stockholders…? Capitalism has nothing to do with ethics, or friendly competition. They’ll never work together. They can’t. They’re antonyms. Capitalism is Deceptive, Monopoly, you could even say Fascist, Totalitarian, or breeding grounds for it. It is basically the perfect engine for corruption to root in and rule while keeping us munchkins on the running wheel. We fell for calling it an economy, capitalism. Nothing personal, just business. What if I told you the piece of gum we’re chewing could contribute to kids working in poisonously polluted factories for slave wages in corrupted countries indebted to the eyeballs forever through ‘dirty tricks’ and ‘cavalry’? Why more homeless people ‘pollute’ the streets inside our own ‘borders’? Why gangs and violent robberies are a norm, why clinical Depression is on the rise, why prices are still going up along with anti-Americanism, why trust in government is at all time lows and more polarized than ever, and 33 more kids just died in 3rd world countries where genocide and starvation is the norm… Just business? On and on our disgusting excuses and justifications go, everything happening so fast, so broadly, how can anyone keep up or be blamed? There are munchkins who see very clearly through this mess because most of it is fabricated. They planned their work, are working their plan very methodically, keen eyes peeled, making adjustments, dealing with inevitable mistakes, disturbances and setbacks, fighting and jockeying amongst themselves as well. You’re just not privy to their information. You just see a cluttered desk, but it’s an organized mess to them. It’s time to acknowledge how organized and corrupt they became while you were sleeping on the job…
Get over the idea of ‘anti-Capitalism’ meaning ‘Socialist’ or ‘Communist’ or any other governmental, economic, religious, etc system. Step right the f**k outside it all, outer space, a void. You’re just human floating naked. Remember when you were told to ‘brainstorm’ no matter how stupid it sounded, just write it down? Eyeah… We need to get different. I’m talking bizarrely different, almost the opposite of anything we do today.
Example: Lawyers and Laws today. Ditch them. Crazy, right? I’m an Anarchist, right? Knee-jerk reaction. Settle down. Nothing is written in stone, I’m not anything but a Human trying to think of how to maximize our potential as a unique and proud species, starting from scratch, ok? Thought experiment, y’know?
