Phone calls recorded???

In recent months I've noticed a bizzare beeping sound when I'm holding a cell phone conversation with nearly everyone I call. It's not continuous but it happens from time to time.
It's a beep sound every 3 minutes 30 seconds exactly (yes I timed it). It sounds like the same exact beep sound when you call customer services and they tell you your conversation may be recorded for quality assurance purposes. Hence it nearly seems like the phone call is being recorded. Has anyone else here noticed that beep or have any idea what the hell it is?
 

TOT called the feds on you. That or Jallman is stalking you. I think it's the latter.
 
I've heard the US Government taps your phones to weed out all those terrorists...
 
I warned you about being "curious" about secret organizations that don't actually exist. These non-existent secret organizations must keep track of those that are too nosy.
 
It must be the government recording you. I mean seriously in order to properly secretly record you they must put in those beeps.
 
I record my phone conversations and then play them back at random times. I save myself 3.99 a minute that way.

Plus....a new Gov't progam under title 7, section 102.5 of the Homeland Obscurtiy Act has tied all cell phone communications into an underwater listening post manned by Zebrafish trained to recognize an underlying Arabic intonation in human speech patterns. Had you been tagged , we would not be conversing at this time.
 

Would that beep be audible on both sides of the conversation?

That's the bizzare part for me, and though I can't recall having any missed calls or texted messages I'll have to check again next time it happens.
