Rising support for Trump in Israel | Pew Research Center

Trump has a 20% higher rating for Confidence in the US President than Obama had in 2015 (69% Trump & 49% Obama).

President Trump appears to be more respected in Israel than by almost any other American ally. While Pew listed support for the President being at low levels in Germany, UK, Japan, Australia and Canada, Trump has a 7/10 vote of confidence in Israel. Is it possible that Trumps approval ratings are higher in Israel than the USA? What might account for this?

No real suprises. There are Jews in Israel who have joined the Nazi party.

Of course, anyone that pledges undying support to Israel and supports their agenda of gobbling up Palestinian land while displacing Palestinians will certainly be popular among the radical Israelis. With that however comes a drop in respect and support from other nations that want to see peace and a two-state solution and don't think that god picks religious and ethnic favorites.

"We just got back from the Middle East.” – Trump after he arrived in Israel from Saudi Arabia :lamo

If anything it's a surprise that the rate of approval, while higher than at the end of Obama's presidency, is still not higher than Obama's rate of approval back in 2013-2014 and certainly not close to the approval of Bush in 2003.
The rate of support for the US remains quite constant without too many changes through the years and that's not surprising at all, Israelis are the most pro-American outside the US.

Opinions vary in Israel regarding Trump, some like him for what he's doing in favor of Israel, some find him unpredictable and thus unreliable, regardless if we are to look at his actual foreign policies, the way he treats the Iranian threat, the way he approaches the I/P conflict recognizing Israel's moral superiority and righteousness, it's safe to say that he's acting very favorable in the eyes of the general Israeli population. His main action was actually moving the embassy to Jerusalem unlike all previous presidents who only promised to do so but haven't. It was a huge move that gained him a lot of support, and it was a very important move historically too as nations have followed that move and it is likely that within a decade most of the civilized world will follow too.

Seeing as they like him so much and with any luck on our part, he'll move there.

In agreement with points raised by you prior to this, just to address
~............................ His main action was actually moving the embassy to Jerusalem unlike all previous presidents who only promised to do so but haven't. I doubt that all that many nations will follow the move in the foreseeable future but what I doubt even more is that it's going to make all that much difference in relations between those nations and Israel (and vice versa).

If anything, Israeli administration will work on pragmatism over symbolism because pragmatic is what it is and always has been (and has always needed to be).

Symbolism is always great but also seen as amounting to very little when it costs virtually nothing, while actual political and often military support against exterior enemies is the actual proof in the pudding.

No matter where any "partner" hangs their embassy sign.

Beyond which I've known plenty stressing the importance of Jerusalem being recognized as the true capital while not wanting to see themselves hanging dead over a fence there, especially when making their lives in a bustling "cosmopolita" like Tel-Aviv and surroundings.

Since Trump professes an affinity for authoritarian states, I'm not at all certain that Trump popularity in any state is such a good thing.

As far as Jerusalem, I disagree with the US embassy move. It was premature and doesn't substantially improve anything.

What about Trump's reluctance to grant Netanyahu's wishes for a full scale American war with Iran and Syria? Not using the US Armed Forces as a proxy military for Israel's benefit is one area where I'd give him credit. As for the embassy, that was bought by the Israeli lobby, and likely the true culprit being Jared Kushner.
