I think the case has pretty much been forcefully made that Trump, far from respecting democracy, would like to nuke it and install himself in the Presidency for life as his friends Vladimir Putin and Kim Jong Un have done. And the fact that nearly 50% of Americans know this and still support him unwaveringly is a strong indication they wouldn't mind him repealing the 22nd Amendment and staying in office indefinitely. So if a majority of Americans reelect Trump, knowing that he has said on a number of occasions he would love to be in for a 3rd and 4th term

"President Trump said Saturday that he plans to “negotiate” to run again in 2024 if he wins reelection in November"

and would certainly convince a Republican Congress to carry out his wish, along with Trump's base cheering him on, perhaps this is what we should give the American people, including the other roughly 48% anti-Trumpers who view Trump as a cancer on democracy. If the majority of Americans want a dictatorship--if they feel that Congress is so corrupt it is beyond saving and that Trump is the only honest politician in Washington DC who is looking out for their favor, then we should give the American people exactly what they want--the end of democracy in American and establishing a dictatorship. Seems fair.

What happened in Russia and the Philippines is that an authoritarian leader becomes so powerful that it's a democracy in name only. Trump supporter would never admit that they want a dictatorship and neither would Putin or Duterte supporters. But they would refuse to acknowledge that their government has become a de facto dictatorship.

It's a dictatorship with the illusion of democracy.

From your lips to God's ears.

Are Russia and the Philippines governed by the person the people voted for?

Slow down, nearly 50% is not the majority, it's quite surprising though. It wouldn't be a case of simple majority anyway, because there is an equal amount opposed to it, which, for me, spells civil war, and keeping a dictatorship out of the U.S. is the type of thing you fight to the death for.

When the Democrats talk about ending the fillibuster, packing the courts, ending the EC and admitting states, all as a means to ensure their electoral success, it should be obvious who is being dictatorial.

Yes, exactly. It's a case of "A Rafflesia arnoldii by any other name would stink as badly." Or "If it walks like a dictatorship and quacks like a dictatorship it's probably a dictatorship."

In 2024 the old people he didn't kill with Covid will be dead. The younger generations have a heart and won't vote for his fat ass even if he could do this.

Why? Do you deny that Trump wants a 3rd term and wouldn't hesitate to force it through if he could? Should we give it to him if the majority of Americans, say 53% want him to stay in office? You see, Mycroft, your little one-word profnae dismissals are just a waste of good forum space unless you expend a little effort to explain yourself.

Trump and conservative elected officials are participating un-American activities thus should be arrested and a grand jury should convene.

I hope you are right. Fundamental Christians love Trump and think he is doing God’s work as president

Mindless Democrats keep starting the same extra stupid same idiotic topic thread.

It is hard to image such ignorance. If Trump was a dictator you would be in prison for life or shot - like your hero Xi Jinping does and like his sidekick employee China Joe will pursue.

You mean Trump's hero Xi.

Fundamentalist Christians are without a doubt the stupidest and most hypocritical people on the planet.
I am not going to argue with your point, but they are getting scary. My friend thinks Biden is a communist, and will arrest her for thinking its wrong to be gay. He hates Christians. I am very shocked by such comments

Deliberately killing old people with covid-19 is official Democratic Party policy. Biden is outraged that only 6 million have been infected. When he was in charge of a pandemic he got 60 million Americans infected.

When was Biden in charge of the pandemic? And how many people died while he was in charge?

Lol... is killing old people a policy position on Biden's campaign website?

No, they refused to participate in the Democratic Party's first attempt to violently overthrown the American government and wish they would as strongly oppose this second violent civil war by the Democratic Party to overthrow the American government.

No, it is his history and he is promising to do what he did with the pandemic he was in charge of. Who cares what is on his website? Even he doesn't know what it says - nor cares.

You seem confused about American history

The “people” did not vote for Trump. The majority of voters voted against him.

I do deny that.

Seriously...you should learn to detect when Trump is trolling you.

According to you guys, anytime he says anything that could possibly be seen as negative, he was just joking. Of course, when he says he doesn’t joke, we’re supposed to not believe him then, right?
