It shows how the issue of vulnerability in facilities taking care of the elders is general. I find it interesting that California has actually a higher percentage of deaths in such homes than NY. Of course, since each state follows different policies of Covid-deaths recording, it is difficult to have a direct comparison.

That's about the same percentage we have here in Tucson and a lot of the other deaths seem to be elderly that live with family in a private residence.

I just finished looking at some numbers because I like to make sure I have a decent perspective on this kind of thing. We have had, as of today, 22,887 confirmed cases of the virus in Pima County and 602 deaths so the overall death rate from this thing would appear to be 2.6%. That's the way it would appear. However, of the total cases 18,137 were people under the age of 60 and in that age group there were only 93 deaths for a whopping 0.05% death rate
