Funny, but this may be the same Federalist Society confab that Gorsuch is supposed to speak at. Only, with Gorsuch, they’re clearing the room and tossing the press out.

Wasn't it last week trump told the rallynuts that Pence could have overturned the election? How many times have our esteemed ( or sometimes ' steamed' ) members tried to post that the attempts to make trump president were perfectly legal?

Didn't Pence just show everyone this afternoon that it wasn't?
 
It's actually gotten to the point on this message board and with Trumplicans on tv spouting lies over and over again in their obstructionist manner that's created this giant sphere of propaganda. That's why when on a rare occasion one will tell the truth, we shake our heads side to side at lightening speed in disbelief with what we just heard or read. Then they wonder why we don't respect them.

I'd love to see Pence keep the spine he used today and put it out there he's going to meet with the committee. Trump's head would pop right off while he's busy calling Pence every name he can think of.

Sadly I'm not thinking we'll see that.

While this might be a rather brave statement to make for someone who may be campaigning in 2024 in that it could anger the fanatical Trump base upon which it seems every Republican believe they need to have to gain the party's nomination. I doubt the calluses on his knees from 4 years of kneeling before and fellating Trump will ever quite disappear entirely.

Better a year late than never, I guess.

The few remaining Republicans who need to appeal to moderates to win in 2022 don't want to talk about the Jan 6 Capitol riot.
But Trump won't let it go. It's creating a bit of a fissure within the party.
Even invertibrate Lyndsey Graham is saying that Trump's promise to pardon the rioters is not acceptable.
 
Yup. slowly but surly Republicans are dislodging Trumps dick from there mouths.
 
As election time nears many Republicans will turn on Trump, his lying BS will meet its end IMHO. Who in there right mind would ever want more of this.

How easily we forget, on January 2 and January 4, '20, the oval office meetings clarified that not a single state legislature was willing to change their EC slates. That's why and how they decided to go with Eastman and claim that the VP is the ultimate arbiter and that Pence could act unilaterally. They only chose that screwball argument because they ran out of constitutional options. And that was after Krebs, Wray and Barr tried to explain it to him.
We have national selective amnesia.

Apparently, the 1/6 Committee feels like they have all the info needed from Pence's camp, therefore not leaning towards asking Pence to appear. That's actually good news in that the Committee has damning information. Pence's statement that's hitting many news sources has made its mark - on the TGOP and DJT himself. A win wiin.

"We've gotten a lot of information about the vice president from many sources so we'll see.... We're not afraid of following any source, but we don't want to spin our wheels on something we already know, let me just put it that way," Rep. Zoe Lofgren (D-Calif.), a member of the committee, told The Hill.

I would have loved to see this spine throughout Trump's predidency and in the immediate aftermath of the 2020 election, but perhaps that's unrealistic.

I do give Pence props for doing his job and upholding the democratic process in the face of opposition from Trump, and death threats from Trump's mob.
 
Yeah, it is nice to actually see one of DJT's loyal lap dogs finally piss on his leg the truth and nothing but the truth.

I do notice an early TGOP fissure taking place, but what I also wish to see is DJT's own fissure. Warning: It will be somewhat difficult to separate his normal day to day fissures from his last major earthquake.
