AHA!

She hasn't even been a whole month in power and Speaker Pelosi in all probability will become embroiled in this potential scandal. Well, there goes her line of how... "Democrats intend to lead the most open, the most honest and the most ethical Congress in history"?

The fact that 'Pelosi and two other Democrats failed to disclose roles in family charities' is downright criminal and I am here to say that I am ashamed to have supported Pelosi in any fashion.

That's it, I'm voting for Bush next time around!

NP, this one's for you!

Pelosi, two other Democrats failed to disclose roles in family charities - USATODAY.com

WASHINGTON — U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and two other prominent Democrats have failed to disclose they are officers of family charities, in violation of a law requiring members of Congress to report non-profit leadership roles.

Rep. Rahm Emanuel of Illinois, the fourth-ranking House Democrat, and Sen. Evan Bayh of Indiana also did not report they serve as family foundation directors, according to financial disclosure reports examined by USA TODAY...

Filing a false report could be prosecuted as a felony, Sloan and Brand said, but prosecutions are rare. Last year, then-Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist failed to report his role in a family charity. He updated his disclosure form and wasn't punished.

Why does anyone care either way? This is a non-story beyond belief.

Did it have any tax consequences or personal gain/favorable treatment? That's all I'd be interested in.

None whatsoever. These were private charities founded and run by their families that did not accept outside donations. Theres no evidence that any tax documents were filed improperly, only that all of those involved failed to list it on the Congressional disclosure.

If this is what a Democratic political scandal looks like I happily accept.

So is the Valerie Plume crap but that didn't stop dims from blowing it into some major BS and spending tax payers dollars to 'investigate' for their political agenda.

Bayh spokeswoman Meghan Keck said it was "simply an oversight" that he did not disclose his charity role. Bayh has since amended his reports, Keck said.

The big difference is when dims commit a crime is is 'simply an oversight' when Republicans do something similar, it is a felony.

Ya know rich people use these charities as a tax shelter. They right off everything against the charity. I would bet there was something illegal with all of them. Them not reporting this wasn't just an accident. No way! It's a scam.

There still could be tax issues but certainly the MSM would be reporting it :rofl

It should at least trigger an IRS audit.
