The corporate media doesn't acknowledge any of Pelosi's legitimate challengers, allowing her to avoid debating her role and leadership of the Democratic Party for decades. If she debated any challenger she'd get whipped badly, as she has been an abject failure except as a corporate tool. Pelosi really is a disgusting person.

I think you are correct about the corporate media. I mean, how many networks are going to air this gem from Nancy?

Anyone who's been paying attention knows that her biggest (if not only) qualifier by far for her position and prominence is her utility as a fundraiser in solicitating the donations (and demands) of the rich, and otherwise monetizing access and influence. This is the primary reason corporate owned media, and particularly the elements of Democratic party reliant on big donors (i.e. most of it), are not keen to call out her deficiencies and how her behaviour is routinely inconsistent with the party's values.

Unsubstantiated opinion noted.

FoxNews/Pravda is a corporation. How the hell is it not corporate media? These buzz words are ridiculous.
Conservative media does blast her yes, but mostly for disingenuous or superfluous reasons, which is more concerned with character assassination than anything material or substantive.

She's a terrible speaker, is charismatic as dirt, holds positions to the right of her constituency, and frankly isn't even particularly great at negotiations.

What she does demonstrably excel at, and what everyone can and does give her kudos for, is being a fundraising machine. Beyond that, I suppose I can offer that she's great at passing mediocre and severely watered down legislation.

You're not half as clever as you believe.

It's not a character assassination if it's true, nor are those critiques disingenuous or superfluous. She is factually to the right of her constituency (i.e. she is not particularly representative) and her performance in terms of achieving Democrat objectives and professed party values is notably lackluster. I don't know of anyone on the left or right that would describe her as being a good or charismatic speaker (as in an orator, which yes, does matter in politics, because of course it does), but believe me, that's the least of my issues with her. Pelosi could be nails on a chalkboard insufferable if she delivered on priority policy which she does not.

Ah yes, the health insurer subsidy masquerading as substantive healthcare reform where the public option was ultimately shitcanned because Lieberman had a hissy fit per his insurance industry donors and literally not a soul confronted him on the issue per his own admission; not Obama, not Pelosi, or any other Dem leadership.

Was it better than the status quo at the time? Sure, but let's not pretend that this was some tremendous victory that brought US healthcare, still in an embarrassing and laughably inefficient state, even remotely close to where it needs to be.

Had Pelosi reached out to Lieberman and tried to get him onside, I would have given her full credit, and been happy to, but the way the facts read, it seems like Lieberman was more a scapegoat and trigger puller for an unpopular position that had the implicit and unspoken support of the Democratic party.

Connecting Fox News with Pravda is what is ridiculous. Now, if you made the connect to Pravda to be CNN or MSNBC, I would agree with you.

Sorry. Your opinions are not facts. Carry on.

Sure. If you want to pretend a health insurance industry subsidy is a huge win despite US healthcare remaining by far the most inefficient in the world (and health spending continuing to rise much faster than the rest of the world), with ACA's most substantive changes being carved out by a proven shill of said industry essentially unopposed, that's on you.

ok

I just so dearly love all of the folks who are so adamantly dissing and denigrating and condemning of Speaker Pelosi, making it out she is some addled brained readily dismissed fool.

Yet there is a R-winger collective voice agonizing the fact a couple sentences out of a long press conference haven't been plastered all over the MSM.

Talk about folks looking foolish.

I don't think you'll find either me or the OP as supporting egregious R-wing disinformation and pearl clutching. I watch Fox News for the unintentional comedy.
