House Speaker Nancy Pelosi needled President Trump on Wednesday as she prepared to send articles of impeachment over to the Senate, repeatedly describing the indictment by the House as a permanent stain on his “He’s been impeached forever. They can never erase that,” Pelosi said at a press conference announcing her impeachment managers, who will prosecute the case.legacy -- no matter what happens next.

While Trump is likely to be acquitted in the GOP-led Senate, Pelosi argued that the 45th president of the United States will forever be marred with an asterisk in history.

The Democratic-led House passed the articles of impeachment on Dec. 18 for abuse of power and obstruction of Congress, making him just the third president in history to face such a rebuke from the House.

The only reason NP "appears to be gloating" is because she knows the impeachment isn't going anywhere.
She has to put on a good show for the loony left.
 
I'm old enough to remember when Pelosi insisted the whole occasion was serious and somber and no laughing matter, fit for wearing black and all. A very, very sad day for our country.

The giddy festivities today with Pelosi in bright pink didn't quite seem to carry that mood.

Let us consider a hypothetical situation - Pelosi thinks Trump did things worthy of impeachment, and so does a majority of congress (democrats, for the most part). The Senate leadership (majority republican) has been resisting following through on what Congress started, which has to be irritating.

So "they can't erase the impeachment" might be some of that irritation leaking through.



But that's just silly, what's really going on is a celebration of her Machiavellian plans to guide congress into impeaching Trump for made-up reasons coming to fruition at last.
