The right talks about women's sports incessantly online. Are you telling me that they aren't even watching enough to make it profitable?
I just can't believe that they aren't even watching something that they care enough about to bore us all to death with every day. Even international play pretend Republicans seem to be obsessed with women's sports.Their interest is limited to the sexual purity of the sport.
Fairness has nothing to do with it. It's a business. The league is losing money every year. The players can demand more money, that's their right, but if they drive the league out of business nobody gets paid. While I think it ridiculously unfair that a starting player for the WNBA earns approximately $80k per year compared to the $1.15 million in the NBA, I understand that the WNBA needs to start bringing in more $$ if they want to pay their players what they are worth.

What exactly are you having trouble believing? If someone supports investigating the killer of Antonio Dennard, it means they have to buy all the Packers season tickets, too?I just can't believe that they aren't even watching something that they care enough about to bore us all to death with every day. I don't really watch football. That's part of why I don't start five hundred threads about it a day. What exactly are you having trouble believing? If someone supports investigating the killer of Antonio Dennard, it means they have to buy all the Packers season tickets, too?
Anybody else seen this crap?
WNBA 'Pay Us What You Owe Us' shirts, explained: WNBPA labor dispute comes into full focus in All-Star Game | Sporting News
The pregame portion of Saturday's match brought the league's contractual dispute with its players into full focus.www.sportingnews.com
If anything... the WNBA players OWE money. They should be paying back the NBA and the Owners.
The WNBA LOSES 40-50 MILLION DOLLARS A YEAR
That is up from the 20 million that they used to lose a year, a few years ago.
It is not so cut and dry. The NBA is not running a charity with the WNBA. It is an investment.
The players have every right to ask for more, the owners have every right to refuse.
The league is doing fine, just fine. What the WNBA needs is more rivalries like Clark and Reese to generate more interest.
Holy shit!I don’t tend to be incredibly impressed with athletes
Wtf is a valuable life skill? These people play basketball, they don’t really have an incredibly valuable life skill.

It's more than fair. When you talk about the NBA they have a revenue sharing agreement. They get a percentage of all league revenues and when the league makes less, they make less too.
It's called sharing the risk and reward. If the WNBA did this then as noted, the players would be writing checks back to the league.NBA players lose $480M due to revenue shortfall - TalkBasket.net
NBA players will forfeit more than $480 million from the league’s escrow fund following a shortfall in basketball-related income (BRI) for the 2024–25 season. According to a source familiar with the league’s financials who spoke under the condition of anonymity, the NBA’s total BRI came in at...www.talkbasket.net
So you would support WNBA players in getting the same revenue sharing agreement as NBA players?
Now look up what they are hoping to negotiate. They have a BRI agreement already, nothing close to what NBA players receive though.
Probably because the league makes Zero Profit.
