Paul Ryan says he's not ready to support Trump

I think the 6 of them (including McConnell) are going to yank-in Trumps choke chain first.

He has to learn how to heel before becoming a superpower attack dog first.

Seriously, are you blind to what's going on? He doesn't need the GOP chain of command. They need him.

Often we agree on stuff, but with Trump... Not... So...

...Nice try... Obama is a socialist through and through... And there isn't a thing I found appealing about his politics. I would have backed anyone on the right against him.

What is the alternative to Trump? Another 4-years of Obama-like destruction.

Now, I have supported presidential candidates from the right I haven't particularly liked, because the alternative is worse... By many degrees. Same in this instance.

I understand many don't like Trump... Well... Suck it up... You think Hillary is a better alternative???

You think Trump is better than Hillary. I think he's just as bad. I won't compromise my values by voting for someone simply because he isn't Hillary. I have principles. I won't vote for either one.

I'll give you one reason... Actually 20 million... Illegal invaders.

Those 20 million. They depress wages and steal jobs, commit crimes (beyond their being here illegally) and we don't know who these people are. Hillary is all for them. Perhaps it's not an issue for you.

You can sit out and call yourself principled... Your choice.. Errr... Your "principles". Claiming Trump is "as bad" is laughable... But hey... Being a New Englander you might recall the quote left in the WH by John Adams... Hillary would be the exact person John Adams wished wouldn't take residence in that house.

So you only expect others to abandon their principles, not you...

Ryan has turned out to be a different man than advertised. He either deceived or changed. I hope he loses his seat. That My Dear is being principled. I would like to see the leader of the House... 3rd in line for the presidency of the party I support lose because he has failed to live up to HIS advertising.

Trump... Offers a few things which really appeal... Like border control for starters... Something NO Demokrat supports... And few Republicans had the balls to bring up. Trump is the one who made that an issue... And he started off his campaign with it.

Hillary as an alternative is Obama with a vagina... And we've had enough of that **** already.

You claiming Ryan has principles?

He may have early on, but he's been corrupted, and the idiotic budget he signed off on was a massive signal for the deaf, dumb and blind.

Now this with Trump. The good news is he's farked himself. Nixon and Reagan supported Goldwater (difference being Trump is going to crush Hillary or Sanders)... And those who pulled a Ryan in the Goldwater days had no future running for the highest office.

I'm not surprised a Socialist is a defender of Ryan. All the more proof... He's ****ed himself.

"Crush" Hillary or Bernie? Really? Sorry, but that borders on delusional.

At this writing, the polls tell us Hillary will crush the Donald. I agree a poll in May doesn't mean all that much for a November election, but the problem is the Republicans start with a huge electoral deficit... and by their own admission (see 2012 "autopsy"), a huge electoral hole in the Black and Latino communities. The party has done nothing to shore this up, and Trump as acted to widen the gap.

Hillary's unfavorables would be historic, but they are far exceeded by Trump. Unless Trump can calm himself down and actually act Presidential, including wooing the very people his is p---ing off (blacks, hispanics, woman, muslims) he is going to be massacred in November. If he can change his behavior (very doubtful) and some events go his way (like a terrorist attack), he might eek out a win.

RealClearPolitics - Election Other - Trump: Favorable/Unfavorable

There is no known or rational scenario where Trump "crushes" anybody.

He does need the GOP chain of command.... He can not win the election ($$$/organization/GOTV) nor govern without them (unless Trump likes executive orders, which he probably will set records there anyway as having to negotiate, cajole or otherwise get permission surely will frustrate him)

But, for the record, Ryan said "....at this time...", which is not never. Ryan needs some political cover to consider down ticket races. Ryan also needs the opportunity to meet with Trump to begin to negotiate the platform.

Trump handled this very poorly in his typical not-presidential way. A statesmen would have made a statement something to the effect that they were looking forward to meeting with the Speaker to discuss ways how the party could best move forward. But, no, Trump had to be a child.

So the problem is you did not understand what he stood for.

Trump does not need all of the R elite, because what we are seeing is a fundamental realignment of the party. In all likelihood we will see it with the D party soon as well. Maybe the parties take new names, maybe not, but there will be a lot of movement of individuals between the parties in the near future. THis is fine, this is a part of the reform process, both the D and R party went into this cycle as failed parties, now we need to make some new parties. Some of the R elite will stay, others will go, and new blood will come in like has not been seen in 70 years or more.

So far Trump has played this great. Ryan assumed that he could run his mouth and that Trump had to listen, that he could play the adult to the alleged Trump child. No, this party belongs to Trump and his supporters now, and Ryans choice is to get aboard now or get left out, assuming that Trump can get the votes in Nov. As Trump has said at many points it is all about who gets the votes, and how many.

I am really disappointed in Ryan, he has already since he took the speakership shown than he does not think beyond style. I like the style changes, but it is nowhere near enough to be successful in that job, Trump as POTUS or not.

Once again, your argument is "Hillary Clinton BAD!". If you think that's compelling, then keep at it. Focus to the subject of the thread which is Trump, NOT Hillary.
