In what is probably the tightest of the 2006 U.S. Senate races, it looks like Patty Wetterling will drop out, leaving Hennepin County Attorney Amy Klobuchar as the choice for Democrats. I think that this is for the best (if you're a Democrat, that is.) It solves two problems: first, it all but ensures that there will not be an expensive primary campaign. Klobuchar can now concentrate on defeating Republican Mark Kennedy. Also, the Dems now have a good candidate to run for the 6th CD against Republican Michelle Bachmann or Phil Krinkie.
