Buchanan makes excellent points, especially about disregarding any 'intelligence' coming from Netanyahu. Israel's PM is not concerned about what's best for the USA, and has previously bragged about 9/11 and the Iraq War benefitting his country. He also believes the USA is easy to manipulate, stating on camera that "America is easily moved" when it comes to getting us to take his side.

I thought the CIA was part of the deep state conspiracy to kill Trump. Now you're saying to trust them?

For the record, did you or did you not vote for the man Netanyahu called Israel's greatest friend?

Anyone who ever thought Israel, or any nation, is thinking about US's best interests is pretty naive. Other leaders are thinking about their countries' interests first, as is the US.

I guess Buchanan is a greater friend?

Then what exactly makes them our ally?

For the US it's both geo-political and cultural. Israel is a strong military presence in the region which helps this country in that there's a counter balance to the non-US allied Arab nations. Culturally, there's a strong tie between US Jews and Christians due to its importance as a holy land to members of both faiths among other things. Countries aren't "friends" like people are.
