I was hoping someone would arrive to illustrate just how irrational and maundering some of those who suffer from Palin Derangement Syndrome can be. :shock:I wonder how Palin was ever let out of Alaska. she is kind of infectious sore on the rest of the world. She should use some antibiotic ointment on her head.
Well there is some historical accuracy in saying some factions of the feminist movement do indeed mock “stay at home moms” or “women without careers” and look askance at them. Which is dumb IMO.
edit: I mean, on the one hand, you have palin telling women it's ok to be a mother of five, and on the other you have obama saying abortion=women's rights.
Palin is "authentically" a feminist. Puh-leez. A bitter, dried up, old, eye sore like Jane "Barbarella" Fonda is considered a "feminist" but the real deal Sarah Palin isn't? That should just PROVE to thinking persons the absolute HOGWASH that is what is called "feminist" these days.
She is right and I hardly think her answer is limited to just the jokes about the kids. I mean that seems pretty obvious MG. Clearly with her, she is still damned if she does and damned if she doesn't!At around 5:00, she is shown the SNL video that makes fun of Levi and Bristol. That is where she makes the "mamma bear" comment, which I tought was a great response. She's then asked if she would have chosen to go on the show, had she known about it before hand. She honestly said she would, because "you have to laugh at yourself also.."
Huh?
So how are jokes about her kid "laughing at yourself?"
The rest of the answers and the interview are for a documentary the journalist will be releasing soon. About the election and media coverage of it? You don’t put it all out there when you are trying to drum up interest in your project, that is how “it” goes MG.Also, notice how the rest of the answer was cut out, and they move onto another topic. I wonder what else she said. I guess the interviewer cut it out so we would be left with a different impression.
And so it goes.

Have fun kicking the can around guys, I've got a tee time in 30 minutes.:2wave:
He's the gift that keeps on giving.Biden was a walking gaff machine, but you sure wouldn't know it from the media.

Palin: Media goes easy on Kennedy - Yahoo! News
So let me get this straight. First, the media went hard on you because you were a conservative/republican/christian/average woman. Now that it's been pointed out that ALL women across the political board have it pretty ****ty (Coulter, Pelosi, Hilary all come to mind like a heroin shot), the issue has become one of class? I wonder how 'class' had anything to do with your treatment. Didn't Obama's family come from a lower class then yours did? Didn't Bush's family come from a much higher class then yours did? I think Palin is grabbing really hard at straws. Maybe it's not so much 'class' but family history? The Kennedys have become part of history through tragedy, scandals and the role some of them have played in world events(Cuban Missile Crisis, RFK's murder, JFKs murder, Chappaquiddick etc.) while your family has become part of history because of a failed presidential campaign and teenage pregnancies.
Oh and I forgot. You give Alaskan's money and can field dress a moose.
Why not?...
Perhaps she would have been criticized either way? So perhaps “they” would not have spent so much time dreaming up a theory by which her son was not hers, but her daughter's because she was trying to cover up her daughter's pregnancy? Except for the fact her baby was hers, her daughter was actually STILL pregnant? Or perhaps your odd defense of this crap is exactly what I meant by the ironic scorn visited on her worst by.......... females. Who should KNOW BETTER. :shock:Perhaps she would have been criticized either way, but being the "momma bear," I would have thought she'd have said, "screw you." This is what I found conflicting about that statement of "well you have to laugh at yourself."
Well you gotta actually read the attached article to get that McFly!!!I didn't realize a big doc was in the works. So I can now see why it was cut out.
Yes you are right, Mrs. Obama was as you say “vilified” at times. Versus the 24/7 and even till now vilification of Palin, as in this thread which is illustration of the same. Doh!:dohBottom line, misinformation from the MSM is nothing new. Sarah was not the first victim, nor will she be the last. She was naive in believing that she would have been treated fairly, and I chalk that up to inexperience. It's obvious Obama had much more experience with the press, and he smartly said his family was not fair game from the get-go (not that it mattered as Michelle was vilified at times).
I did, but I think my added holiday weight threw me off a bit!Have fun!
Yes aps, I’m certain the reason you thanked Danny is because you don’t think she is as dumb as a bag of hammers. Which of course flies in the face of everything else I have seen you post about her. In fact, why dance around this? You are exactly the type of woman I was speaking about earlier; in reference to women who should know better.I wasn't able to watch the interview until last night. I don't know how people can watch it and think she handled it well. I'm sure she's smart; she hasn't gotten to where she is because she is dumb. However, she doesn't exude intelligence IMO when I listen to her speak. I see a whiner in this interview. She blames EVERYONE but herself on why she was portrayed the way she was. WHAT? Yes, it's everyone else's fault that you were not portrayed well, Governor Palin. Gag me.

Dan’s issues with her make no sense to me at all, as she is most certainly the most conservative candidate I have seen in some time. Your objections to her make even less sense to me. And I’m not new at reading your complaints. Which have largely been highly irrational and I say that will full intention of providing explicit examples of my point if you need me to.
Having said all of that, how you “got” your take on this interview is equally beyond logic to me. She was whining? Really? How? She blames “everyone” but herself? For what specifically? That is contained in the nine minutes of this interview? You mean it is HER FAULT that she was portrayed as she was? Good lord do explain that one to me, it should be quite interesting to say the least!:shock::shock::shock::shock:
"When did we start accepting as hard news sources bloggers, anonymous bloggers especially? It's a sad state of affairs in the world of the media today, mainstream media especially, that they're going to rely on bloggers, anonymous bloggers, for their hard news information."
Palin criticized the McCain camp's decision to send her back for a second round with Couric, and tried to explain why she declined to name a single publication she reads. Palin said she interpreted Couric's question as "Do you read, what do you guys do up there," but conceded: "Perhaps I was just too flippant in my answer back to her." However, Couric made no reference to Alaska in her question, asking, "What newspapers and magazines did you regularly read before you were tapped for this?"
Palin also objected to reports that Bristol and her fiance, Levi Johnston, are "high school dropouts and they're going to just look for government handouts to raise their child and stuff, nothing could be further from the truth. And I've asked some in the media to correct that, and they haven't corrected it, and that gets frustrating." Palin contacted People magazine, the Associated Press and the Anchorage Daily News last week. She said Johnston -- who, according to the Anchorage paper, recently quit his job as an apprentice electrician -- is taking a high school correspondence course, and that Bristol is still a student.
Asked by Ziegler how she would have fared as Barack Obama's running mate, Palin accused the press of ideological "hypocrisy," saying: "I think they would have loved me as a candidate. . . . You would have seen an absolutely different and . . . much prettier profile of Sarah Palin and the Palin family and my administration."
I don't know, I think the way that some of the Conservatives swooned over her was pretty messed up. I could kind of understand why people swooned over Obama during the election considering that he was the first African American Presidential candidate and was articulate and well-spoken, but I can't for the life of me understand why they swooned over Palin.
I wonder how Palin was ever let out of Alaska. she is kind of infectious sore on the rest of the world. She should use some antibiotic ointment on her head.
Lying about Barack Obama's past record, his past relationship with Bill Ayers, not responding when people said, "Kill him" when she was talking about Obama at rallies, belittling Obama's experience as a community leader, and things like that. Why she couldn't talk about her own accomplishments and talk about what she would assist McCain doing during his presidency is beyond me. Nah. She was too busy being a nasty bitch toward her opponents.
Two points to make here:
1) Palin is correct when she says that Kennedy is getting a free ride from the press.
2) Palin is still as dumb as a bag of hammers, and still sucks as much as she always has.
First of all, Sir Loin, I thanked danarhea because I thought his post was hilariously written. He makes me laugh, and I thank when I do. So there you have it. Next time, ask me why I thanked him instead of assuming you know the answer.
I don't mind your thinking my complaints are irrational, as I think your compliments are irrational as well. You're not going to get me to change my mind about what I think of her, and I am not going to get you to change your mind about what you think of her.
It's beyond logic? The quotes I will provide below are in this Washington Post article: washingtonpost.com - nation, world, technology and Washington area news and headlines
Her statement:
She's making this statement in connection with the rumors that Trigg is not her son. Okay, I can see why this upset her. However, upon what basis did she reach the conclusion on Barack Obama palling around with Bill Ayers? And how Obama launched his campaign for Illinois senator in Bill Ayers's living room? Did she get that from a reputable news source? I don't think so. No reputable news source provided such information. Rather, bloggers provided that information, and she used that information in her speeches at multiple rallies. So for her to complain that others are basing their conclusion that Trigg was not her son on bloggers is laughable, at best.
Katie Couric asked Palin appropriate questions. She was running for Vice President of the United States. It was appropriate for us to find out her world views and upon what facts she based them. Her claim that Couric was asking the question in a way that implied that people from Alaska are out of touch was ridiculous. I would be able to name off the newspapers I read in a matter of seconds if asked. Asking about Supreme Court cases is also appropriate, and yet Palin couldn't name one, even though she had spoken about the Exxon decision months earlier. When asked about examples of McCain showing he was a reformer, she couldn't name one, but there was calling him a reformer, reformer, reformer.
For her to blame Katie Couric for making her look foolish is really, really sad. I would have more respect for her if she said, "I was nervous because it's not every day that I get interviewed on national TV." THAT would have made sense to me. Instead, she blamed herself looking rather unintelligent/uninformed on Katie Couric's questions. That, to me, is whining.
I have yet to see any reputable news source claim that Bristol and Levi are high school dropouts. It's bloggers who are claiming this fact. Clearly, her complaint that, "When did we start accepting as hard news sources bloggers, anonymous bloggers especially?" would indicate that she thinks these sources are bogus. So why she would think that these sources would provide accurate information about her or her family?
Come on. Does she genuinely believe this? Barack Obama was portrayed horribly by mutiple sources/people during the campaign. Sarah Palin helped paint a very UGLY picture of Barack Obama during the campaign. (“Our opponent … is someone who sees America, it seems, as being so imperfect, imperfect enough, that he’s palling around with terrorists who would target their own country. . . . This is not a man who sees America as you see America and as I see America.” Palin says Obama 'palling around' with terrorists - Los Angeles Times). So for her to say that somehow she would have been so LOVED as a candidate had she been on his ticket is so ridiculous, I pity her if she genuinely believes that.
This is why I think she is a whiner during this interview. She has not seriously reflected on what happened during the campaign trail. Excuse me, Sarah? You're upset how you were portrayed, but there you are portraying Obama as a terrorist or, at a minimum, a terrorist sympathizer. Niiiice.
I understand her being upset about the media (not reputable media) making derogatory comments about her family. It would not have been ANY different had one of Obama's daughters gotten pregnant out of wedlock. I can say that with 100% confidence.
Again, Sir Loin, call me irrational all you want. I stand by my above words and feel confident that such conclusions are rational. Have a nice day.
