Von Der Leyen accidentally let slip that Ukraine had suffered 100k casualties.

Coincidentally, this is also something that General Milley had said prior earlier this month, but MSN seemed to put its head in the sand and refuse to cover it. If anything, I do believe the Ukrainians are losing 1.3-1.5 times as much as the Russians, since it's pretty difficult to be hit with 7 times as many artillery shells and have a equal casualty rate.

100,000 injured and killed is approximation for each of the Ukrainian and Russian sides.

100,000 injured and killed is approximation for both Ukrainian and Russian sides.
Over 100k, but yes, that's what Milley says. It's interesting then, even if these numbers were true, how it must have come to be equal if the Ukrainians were boasting about all these Russian wave attacks being mowed down, unless they were taking grievous losses as well themselves, and were not utterly running over the Russians as MSN would have you believe...

That will happen in a war.

When Russians say they killed 100,000 Ukrainians you must remember that includes civilians. Always remember that.

That goes for all armies: German, US, UK, Israeli, Chinese etc. Or you would like the butcher's bill from the Iraqi, Syrian, Afghan adventures?

Not hard to believe. They are in a somewhat asymmetric war with a genocidal, immoral maniac who is firing unguided munitions over the horizon. Frankly, it's a testament to the Ukrainians' resolve, to their competence, and to western assistance that this number is not much higher.

The Ukrainians have in the main been using the same Soviet weapons of the Russians.

Ukrainians have been liars as to their casualties. From the beginning. What the von der Leyen fiasco reveals is that there is a world of a difference between western estimates of Ukrainian casualties and the fake numbers published by Kyiv

While also using a lot of advanced munitions and tactical support from the west. What's your point?

Ukrainians have been liars as to their casualties.
So...? Is this your first encounter with war? SOP. Especially when perception is that they are outmatched. They can't let that morale killing perception spread too much.

My point? You are the one talking of Russians firing unguided munitions over the horizon, as if Ukrainians are not firing the same munitions. Both armies are more alike than different. What I give credit to Ukrainians is that they have fought with admirable bravery, that no one can take from them.

Ok. I can see how it serves a useful purpose vis a vis morale.

Is anyone counting civilian deaths?
Usually they take more casualties if the war is in their area.

You of course intentionally ignore the difference in volume, because you have to do so to maintain whatever false narrative you are trying to build. I see no point worthy of response.

The Ukrainians have in the main been using the same Soviet weapons of the Russians.
But they are not firing them at Russian cities in order to terrorize the population. They are firing them at Russian soldiers who are invading their country.

40k civilian casualties according to Milley, but I wouldn't be surprised if that's an undercount.

According to the statement the figure of 100,000 killed on the Ukrainian side is for combatants only. The figure for civilians was given as 20,000.iirc

Its OK. The world leaders all said the Russian aggression will not be allowed to stand. So......

Maybe you should ask the residents of Donetsk City

Your kink is showing.

Yet Ukraine claims Russia has been sending cannon fodder assaults for months now, which doesn't track with the casualty numbers.
40% of the Ukrainian casualties have been civilians murdered by Russians. Not sure I get your point.

Yes, the Ukrainians are taking losses, but from what I read they've killed 5-6 Russian combat troops for every one of theirs (including civilians). Good ratio.

So by that logic the Russians have lost half a million troops. The first casualty of wat etc

Donetsk is not a Russian city. It is a Ukrainian city that was invaded and illegally occupied by Russia.
