And since he lied to produce the material in that report which impacted his sentence - is there not some legal recourse to bust this asshole down to his proper size?

I think he can only be recalled for a sentence increase before he starts serving his current sentence. Otherwise it's up to the general public to make his life a misery once he's out.

They recommended that six months for a reason, and they have far more information about this case than either of us do.

If anything it should tell you that you do not have enough information to make any judgements about this case. ​

And yet the most extreme leftists say there's no need for mandatory minimum sentencing, takes too much power from the judges they say.

it does, and we shouldn't have them. One whole, judges are meant to judge and assess and handout appropriate punishment. There are cases where people get off light, there are cases when people are too heavily punished, but if we are to make mandatory punishments, then you really don't need the judge in the first place.

The outrage is really about a rapist who received an abnormally lenient sentence because the judge was more concerned about the future prospects of the rapist than meting out justice and downplayed the risk to the general public posed by allowing this human refuse to roam free after 6 months.

If there was any true justice the judge would be sentenced to the same thing as the victim for failing to do his job. 6 months is a joke. Clear cut rape cases with video evidence should require the death penalty.
