below is information about a new cryptocurrency called Orbitcoin. It is based on Litecoin but was designed with the purpose of providing funding to scientists and scientific research institutions to study areas that are currently labelled as "conspiracy theory" and not worth investigation. I am hoping that this will not be considered spam as I do not gain anything from anyone downloading the wallet client and will in fact be giving away 2 ORB coins to anyone who replies to this thread with a new address. These are already being traded for bitcoins on www.coins-e.com and bitcoins can be traded for US dollars. The source code of the client is also available incase there is fear of malicious content you can check yourself.
Why Orbitcoin?
Because first of all, we don't like the Central banks and corrupt governments, and would love to see them lose their monopoly. If you haven't noticed, they aren't so happy about Bitcoin, and all the other coins out there. And they will try to stop them. Orbitcoins goal is to be used on both darknets like I2P, TOR and others, as well as the normal internet/clearnet + in outer Earth orbit.
At the current moment it works with SOCKS over I2P/TOR. Native support to I2P should be in place soon. It's an advanced scrypt based POS/POW coin, And has some nice features from other coins too.

Orbitcoin is advanced scrypt POS/POW to mine
1. Start up Orbitcoin-qt, wait for it to load, then exit.
2. Put orbitcoin.conf (see sample file above) in your c:/users/**yourcomputername**/appdata/roaming/orbitcoin
3. restart orbitcoin-qt, and you should connect and sync.
4. For solo mining, launch cgminer or whatever mining program you like and begin mining.
cgminer ex: cgminer.exe --scrypt -o localhost:**** -u **yourusername** -p **password** (without **)
(cgminer is also available for linux, and mac. There are also alternative miners like bfgminer)

I have been given some Orbitcoin to spread around the scientific community, 2 Orbitcoin per person that post's their Orbitcoin address after downloading the wallet, that is the equivalent of mining 8 Blocks Enjoy.
