Americans are now more likely to die from an opioid overdose than from a vehicle crash for the first time in history, according to a new report.

The National Safety Council released new data this week that found opioid overdoses are now the fifth most likely cause of death, with the odds of dying from an overdose at 1 in 96.
The odds of dying in a motor vehicle crash are 1 in 103.

I have a radio paging receiver that covers the local county EMS dispatch. I can count on at least several OD calls per day & I don't listen for more than a few hours. And this is affluent suburban Phila, not Appalachia.

But pot...gotta keep that illegal. Cuz....it's dangerous and stuff.

If there were such a thing as responsible corporate leadership in the US, these synthetic drugs would be withdrawn from the market. Fascism rules.
