Ongoing politics thread

At a former site, I created an ongoing thread for items of political nature that I (or other members) felt were not necessarily thread-worthy, but were still items of interest. Sometimes the items did become threads, but most often not. The items were typically timely in nature (1-2 days). Would it be an issue to start a similar thread here? The thread became the one of the most visited threads on the board.

There's at least one or two threads on any given topic. Creating a thread for multiple topics would just create chaos IMO. You'd end up with several poster discussing three or four topics at the same time and it would quickly become unreadable. Thanks for the suggestion though.
