One word: Why?

Same old argument - if it doesn't happen often then we don't need laws banning it.

We shouldn't have laws that not only don't prevent crimes from happening but cause harassment of people who don't "look" a certain way.

All Hail Plankton!

I'll only bow down to Voldemort. Or Snape, if possible. [emoji12]

**** both of those nerds! A real "sly leader" only needs the strength og his keyboard and the dullness of his wit to yell at people IN ALL CAPS until they serve him!

Yeah! That's what sly leadership is all about!

The only way it could possibly affect my life is when my daughter becomes a bit older possibly a teen way down the road and nude folks that still have male equipment are showering next to her at school (since she's not going to leave the house until she's 30 this doesn't matter but still (Very much jkjk)).
Yes. You can relatively cheaply install curtains, etc. But should a school have to flip that expense or should this all be put off until an adult age?
In schools, especially, does a teenage boy just "feel like a girl" one day in order to get to shower with them? I know that thought would have crossed my mind when I was a teenager if the courts made it that easy.

So. Though I really don't care who uses what bathroom (I've said before I am more worried about people who are checking out whose in the bathroom then those using it) there are ripple effects that should at least be talked about and considered before making blanket laws (and maybe they are I really don't know how the Government is approaching this).

Schools have no obligation to recognize a student as transgender until they have proper medical paperwork.

Now, I will say that I have come to agree that transgender students in high school and lower should use separate facilities to shower. Restrooms shouldn't be an issue since they aren't really going to see anything there. Showers and locker rooms are different at school, because the other students can't choose to go somewhere else, as adults can do when it comes to locker rooms or changing rooms out in public.

Oh really? I thought all you needed was pointy wand, few Horcruxes, a non-existent nose, and a giant army of Death Eaters to be the leader of the Slytherin.

But I find myself standing corrected, oh great and powerful keyboard warrior! May your caps lock smite your enemies, and strike fear into the fear into the hearts of the people!

Perhaps that's the way it should be, however, that's not the way it is in this new world.

Don't forget to work the shaft, you pathetic bootlicking sycophant! Now go shower someone else with your false flattery!

Correct.. A transgender man is someone who went through surgery and hormone to appear male.
What about those transgendered that feel a certain gender? Without any hormonal supplicants or surgeries?

From everything we know about sexual predators, it is less likely that they would use a public restroom to spy on children than a transgender person using that restroom, especially a restroom they wouldn't legally be allowed inside without laws allowing transgenders or those who don't quite look "the right sex" in those restrooms without being harassed. Most sexual predators don't want to be caught, and there is a high chance of being caught in a public restroom, whether in one that matches your gender/sex or not.
Oh, but you fail to consider all the preverts that will take advantage of the law. BTW, were you able to hold you breath through the entirety of the bolded statement? If you did, you're probably an accomplished snorkel diver...

You are making some massive assumptions based on your own beliefs about "perverts" and who they are. What makes a person a pervert exactly? There are far more perverts in the world than those who would a) sexually assault or molest a child or b) sexually assault or spy on an adult, or both combined. Pervert is subjective. Actual child molesters, rapists, voyeurs can be counted, and there aren't as many as people seem to think (despite there being too many for anyone's comfort), butt here are far fewer who are stupid enough to do something in a public restroom. The vast majority of attacks, rapes, etc take place against someone known to their attacker and in someone's private residence. This won't change if bathrooms are knowingly open to anyone.

Bet you're fun at parties.

Why are some people so adamantly opposed to letting transgender people use the opposite sex's bathroom? And more importantly, why do transgender people want to use opposite sex bathrooms so badly? It's a bathroom! You go there to take a ****! Why is it such a big deal whether or not you get to go to the bathroom somewhere, or whether or not you get to stop someone from going somewhere?

Questions for the transgender side: Why do you want to use the other restroom so badly? Is the men's room out of soap? Are you sick of the lines for the women's room? Is it some kind of freedom thing? Do freedom ****s pass easier than regular ones?

Questions for the other side: what is so bad about a few transgenders using your bathroom? Are you hoarding all the soap? Are you afraid of the men's room getting short lines as women stampede to the unoccupied stalls? Do freedom ****s smell worse than regular ones?

I'm not worried or bothered by transgendered people. A very big whatever for me. I think it's sort of stupid to make 'using the bathroom' about more than 'using a restroom that's designed for your equipment'.

I am bothered by the apparent dissolve of gender-anythings that some people seem to be really wanting. Men (not transgender) in the women's restroom whenever they want, just because they want. Women (not transgender) going into the men's restroom because they want to for no reason other than that.

To me, these two things are very very different.

To some other people, apparently they're all the same thing . . . and I'm not sure how we went from 'a few transgender people' to 'all men or women'. I'm not following what happened, here, and why society all of a sudden has to take sides on something that should be a non-issue. (And by non-issue, I mean leave things alone. It was fine before).

I suspect that the ones that have not gotten hormone replacement or did that woudl not want to go into a place that does nt physically match their outward appearance, or how they are living their lives. People like that watnt to get into the bathroom, get things done, and leave.. just like the rest of us.

Yeah, and if that was all we were dealing with here, wouldn't be enough of a problem to make a blip on the radar. Enter the Social Justice Warriors. They want to make a grand show every time they use an opposite sex bathroom.

Except, if you look at the when the whole business started with the upset, it is AFTER they did the laws against ti..

And, if you look, last year, there were 0 trans people arrested in bathrooms for sexual imprioritys. More republican congressmen were arrested for sexual misdeeds in bathrooms last year.

The world was a better place when we had chamber pots. This kind of problem never came up.

When will someone stand up for transracialism? I have a huuuuge appendage. Therefore, I've always felt black even though my genes are white. I should be eligible for affirmative action.

It doesn't bother me that they use the restroom of the gender they present as. I can't speak for them, but imagine if a F to M went into the ladies room like some are demanding - do you really think that person will be left alone? Or a M to F going into the men's room. As soon as she says she has a penis, she's in danger of being beat up.

IMO, this isn't about fairness for transgenders (although I imagine this is what it will ultimately come to). This is a reaction by groups, by the federal government to state laws passed against transgenders.

The folks in the U.S. are particularly prudish. In many other countries, there have been unisex bathrooms for decades. One guy I know from , of all places, Arkansas , mentioned he saw unisex restrooms in the Philippines in the late 1960's, when he was in the military.

There is nothing prudish about people being upset if someone who feels they are a certain sex without an outward appearance of the sex or of any medical documentation of the sex allowed into restrooms which they feel they belong.
