Carlos Moya, one of the best sportsmen in the world and universally respected as both a great champion and a courteous respectful athlete retired from tennis at age 34 after 15 years on the tour that saw him win several important championships such as the French Open on clay and the prestigious Cincinnati Masters on hardcourt.

Moya served as Rafa Nadal's mentor when Rafa started his pro career. Many attribute Rafa's well known even temper and courtesy towards his opponents to the influence and guidance Moya provided
