This is not a pro-Trump or an anti-Trump post... this is a "same old crap from the same old government" post.
We cannot trust our leaders to do what is best for us when all they try to do is what's best for their political party, and our President Donald Trump continues to talk out of both sides of his mouth.
He says that he will own the government shutdown, but then says it's a Democrat shutdown... if he means the former he lied about the latter. If he means the latter he lied about the former.
Here's the thing... HE IS NOT THE ONLY POLITICIAN WHO SPEAKS OUT OF BOTH SIDES OF HIS MOUTH!!!
That is why independents like me have absolutely zero faith in our political leaders. I cannot trust what President Trump says because he has a history of saying one thing, then saying another thing that contradicts the other... or he says something that can be proven to not be true.
I cannot trust what the Republicans say because their on political party is split on the President that supposedly represents them.
I cannot trust what the Democrats say because their main focus is to get President Trump out of office at any cost.
Now... here is where my post will get a little anti-Trump...
This is the first time (at least in my lifetime) that the government has been shut down 3 times in one year... under President Trump's watch. The buck has to stop somewhere, and 99.9% of the time the buck stops at the boss... and the "boss" of this country is the President.
To the poster in an earlier thread that said President Trump's comment about owning the shutdown was an "empty quote"... I DON'T WANT MY PRESIDENT TO GIVE EMPTY QUOTES! I want my President to say what he means and stick by it. He ran on the fact that Mexico would pay for a border wall. What does that mean? It means NO AMERICAN TAXPAYER MONEY! If he meant that Americans would pay for it now and Mexico would pay for it later, then WE ARE PAYING FOR THE WALL!
If President Trump is truly wanting the 5 billion dollars for what he calls "border security", then they are more things that have to do with border security than just the wall. Border guards, training for border guards, surveillance... those are just a few things part of border security. If he is truly worried about border security, then he should not use that 5 billion dollars specifically for the wall...
...besides, didn't the wall get torn down at the end of the album? (Sorry, my lame attempt at a Pink Floyd/border wall joke.)
