The problem is that we have never been able to prevent or cure colds. The numbers cited indicate that it's because the virus spreads too easily and is too persistent. Hence, the failure of social distancing and mask mandates.

What is going to happen is what always happens with epidemics, we develop immunities and the disease mutates. The second strain was less lethal than the first. Commercial retail has delivery and curbside pick-up.

Not in denial. Just don't care anymore. Anyone who wants to be vaccinated can be vaccinated. Anyone who wants to risk death can be replaced by harder-working immigrants with better judgment, should they perish, and their death also means more stuff for the rest of us.
