The reparation of black people for the slavery that some American cities approved is a joke. In no way, a black person could prove his relation to slavery or that his ancestors were slaves. The thing is that some mayors, Democratic ones, looking to ride the George Floyd "I can't breath" wave for political purposes, they got nothing to do better than approving this kind of phony law. Slavery is bad. However, it is part of American history, neither people like it or not. I believe to be fair that Algerian, Tunisian, Syrian, Lebanese, Moroccan, and half a dozen African countries deserve occupied by the French colonialism deserve reparation too. India deserves a reparation from Great Britain. Congo deserves reparation from Belgium. And you know, the list can go very long. The world was unfair for too many people and nations, not only Black Americans.

No.

There is no reason to give more reparations to the ethnicity under discussion.

"Reparations" have already been given in the form of affirmative action when it comes to employment, no bail laws, the waiving of college requirements, welfare, unofficial "quotas" for awards such as the Oscars, no more suspension from school for defiance, etc.

And you forget that it was paid in full with the blood of American soldiers died on the battlefield to defend the decision to abolish slavery.
