This is a good read for any non far left mouth droolers. If you consider yourself a moderate liberal read it and critique and let's discuss

One takeaway:
police stops and arrests indeed declined, on average, 48% in 10 major cities from June 2020 to February 2021 relative to the previous nine-month period from 2019-2020. The results? Murders rose 56% in those cities.

More importantly it gets into this false reality created by constant media focus.

Polls were taken and leftists overestimated the number of unarmed blacks shot by police by a huge margin. Many thinking it was a thousand or more a year (only 18 in 2020).

Other points, blacks being murdered by other blacks has increased due to this climate of pressuring cops to back off enforcemebt. The result being far far more excess black deaths recently than all cop killings of blacks.

The odds of a black being killed by cop is about the same as being killed by lightning strike.
Unless you are law abiding then it drops to near zero.

We live in a fake race reality right now due to political and social games.

Not many moderates on this site for sure.

If you won't believe the FBI, then who are you going to believe?

The data has been posted here more than twenty times ...
Er...you don't understand what a post hoc ergo propter hoc fallacy is. The data may be accurate, but we don't have reason to believe the conclusion you're trying to draw from the data unless you can show a causal relationship.

We are told that we need to forgive cops that shoot first and ask questions later, because their jobs are so unbelievably dangerous.

And yet, statistics show that only around 30-60 cops on average are shot and killed each year. A few dozen out of all of the untold millions of interactions between police officers and the community. So then, why in so many cases is the first instinct in the minds of these officers, even when dealing with children, to open fire? To assault? To brutalize and torture?

And why are so few officers willing to speak out about the misconduct of their peers?

Because, as Trevor Noah rather eloquently put it, this isn't about a few bad apples. It's about a rotten tree.

The FBI did not state that murder rates increased as a result of arrest rates decreasing. The Blaze made that correlation implies causation fallacy. Post hoc ergo proctor hoc just like Drowning Man said.

And for every black person killed by the police, there are probably dozens who are harassed and mistreated by the police but don't end up dying from it. "Racism isn't getting worse, it's getting filmed." - Will Smith

Most dangerous jobs in America...

Yeah, cops come in somewhere in the high teens to low twenties.

Jobs more dangerous that being a police officer -- Roofer, Trucker, Garbageman, etc...

Feel free to look it up.

The stats show that isn't their first instinct, or there would be thousands of dead bodies. Only 18 unarmed blacks shot and killed by police last year.

Only 18 shot.

Yet they face thousands of deadly threats every year.

The Fergeson effect is no doubt real. And it's only going to get worse for urban minorities

Left solutions are making it worse as we all predicted.

What relationship do you think they are trying to draw?
The only conclusion here is the factual one of black people kill magnitudes of more black people than anyone else, especially cops.

Does the media portray it thus?

I was only addressing the factual claim that is rate of cop killing of the black man. Magnitudes more black men are killed by black men. But, does the media portray it this way? Is it in dire need of a fix or would they rather portray it as racism by the cops who kill (18) of the thousands of black men yearly.

What are the odds of a white man being killed by the police?
"... white men and boys face a lifetime risk of about 39 [31, 48] per 100,000."
" Our models predict that about 1 in 1,000 black men and boys will be killed by police over the life course (96 [77, 120] per 100,000).

WHEN CAN WE TALK ABOUT "On police shootings of Americans"?

So,
during the pandemic, while fewer people were out and about travelling, police stops went down.
That sounds likely.

Fewer people means travelling fewer opportunities to see someone travelling improperly.

But you feel that murder rates increased because the number of police stops went down ?

You feel that there is some direct causation between the reduction of traffic and the increase of murders?
And the key thing which turns fewer people travelling into more murders is a reduction in police stops.

There's a well know fallacy called post hoc ergo propter hoc.
It basically means that correlation is not causation.

It would take a lot more work than what the op-ed writer did to establish
the fact that fewer people being stopped by police (at a time when fewer people were travelling)
led to an increase in murders.

Just showing the two things happened one after the other or simultaneously and drawing conclusions
is exactly and specifically the logical fallacy post hoc ergo propter hoc

Why are you comparing criminals that happen to be black on black violence with COP on black violence? You do know the cops are supposed to be the good guys and not comparable to criminals right? But you are comparing black on black, criminal on victim violence with Cop vs Black people violence. There should be ZERO Cop vs Black people violence.... Cops arent criminals... Or at least not supposed to be.

Get back to us when a garbage can decides to take a shot at the police.

Because, as Trevor Noah rather eloquently put it, this isn't about a few bad apples. It's about a rotten tree.

It’s a perspective that completely lacks context. The Washington Post researched this a few years ago and you know what they found? Out of over 10 million arrests per year you can count the number of unarmed black men shot and killed by police on one hand. But Trevor Noah makes no bones about saying the disproportionate response to that - total anarchy - is justified. There are a few rotten apples on an otherwise absolutely massive healthy tree.

tbf,
the saying is about how you have to get rid of the bad apples right away as soon as you find them
because
a few bad apples . . . spoil the bunch

Is the response to people being shot and killed or to the lack of accountability when people are shot and killed?

Is the response to people being shot and killed or to the lack of accountability when people are shot and killed?

That depends on the response. The kind of thing Trevor Noah tries to justify - destruction of our cities, looting, burning, and maiming or killing anyone who gets in the way - is not justifiable and wildly out of proportion to the problem. But there are a lot of people in our society who don’t have the intellectual maturity to recognize the difference between the vengeance they want and the justice under the law they’re entitled to.

Specifically, which words do you believe Noah used to say that "looting, burning, and maiming or killing anyone who gets in the way" was justified?

Can those words be quoted?
