OMG: Lanny Davis Says He Was A Source For CNN’s Trump Tower Story

Un Forking Believable. The only thing Davis has not said is "I flat out lied and stabbed my client in the back'.


I wondered why Lanny Davis - a Clinton Crime Family lawyer forever - was suddenly representing Cohen. It is my guess, he is using his Clinton "juice" to create a favorable plea environment for Cohen. Also, Cohen lied to congress, but with Lanny Davis' association he closes the loop, and Davis protects him by "Clintonizing" him, and thus, Congress will not lay a glove on him for lying, thus removing any leverage congress may have on him for the Russia probe.

It looks to me that Davis has forgotten that he is representing his Cohen, not joining in the prosecution of Trump. He is still in there as a Clinton "Fixer". Remember Cohen plead guilty to campaign violations that many lawyers say are not crimes. Who does that?
 
Yeah, it looks like the source of the error is likely with Cohen, who could be in jeopardy if he lied to federal investigators. Lanny is trying to take the heat. Definitely a blunder.

But to see you mention Clinton (regardless of Lanny's past), and be faux-outraged.

Lanny covers for Cohen once. Giuliani does it 300 times and contradicts himself almost daily? False equivalency outrage.

 
In the first place, Cohen said nothing in front of the judge under oath regarding the Trump Tower meeting.

In the second place Davis is as much Cohen's attorney as Rudy is Trump's. What the heck was this thread started for....troll bait?
 
Ok. I am trying to find the source of this story. I see many of the conservative web sites (including fox news), have picked it up, but they all point to buzzfieed.

The problem is.. well, buzzfeed doesn't show where Lanny Davis said that, and buzzfeed is not what I consider a reliable news site. All the stories point to Buzzfeed , and that is not the most reliable of sources. Does anybody have an independent verification of this??

Lanny is trying to be Cohen's rudy and is quite better at it. I must say. At least his arguments try to make sense unlike Rudy's truth isn't truth. But we must remember that both of these guys really aren't lawyers. They are PR con-men trying to sway public opinion who will likely do more damage in the end for both of their clients not to mention the justice system itself.

Is this some weird QAnon nonsense?

No one gets a magic pass in the criminal justice system just because they hired a lawyer who used to work for the Clintons. That's not how it works.

Cohen has no deal with the prosecution, and no protection if he lied to Congress. In fact, the Senate Intelligence Committee is investigating that very question, and he could face up to 5 years in jail for lying to Congress while under oath.

On CNN, Davis basically tried to blame the media's "mix up" in reporting the story, much the the chagrin of Anderson Cooper's WTF? face.

That expecting either to have anything meaningful to say publicly is naive. Believing anything either has to say publicly is absurd. They are both there for PR. Thats it.

As for "Davis lied". Big whoops. Anybody who did not expect lies from Davis given his role needs to get out of Kindergarten and into the 1st grade.

Davis played fast and loose and got way out over his skis. He's owned up to his mistake and says he shouldn't have weighed in on the subject.
He's doing a lot of damage control today.

As has Rudy. I fail to see the dif. I simply do not care where people fall on Cohen v Trump, anybody that thinks Davis is filling a different role for Cohen than Rudy fills for Trump is simply living in some fantasy world. Both are only worth listening to in trying to glean from what they say with the direction of strategy might be. Taking what they say literally is laughably absurd.

Ignored, yes, defended, yes, but not acknowledged and excused.
I'll have to remember that when the subject comes up about other people.

No. Did not expect that. Not with what's at stake.

Merely taking into account Davis's age and years of experience, he made terrible, rookie mistakes and is recanting it all.

Why would someone like Davis, with all his connection, experience, notoriety and wealth, make a complete ASS out of himself and concoct these lies just to hurt Donald Trump?

If any of the 24/7's had their heads screwed on straight, they would have immediately questioned Davis about what such an indication from him meant for the testimony that Cohen had already given before Congress. The 24/7's got around to it I think within 36 hours but gave themselves a full news cycle to have fun with it.

The instant Davis was asked about his comment within the context of Cohen's appearance before Congress he immediately said he had no indication that Cohen had anything to say that would contradict his Congressional testimony. The jig was up that very instant.

We will recall that Cohen had been silent for at least two weeks before his court appearance. Seems to me that Davis was trying to draw some attention to Cohen's appearance and did not care how he did it.....JUST LIKE RUDY!

I heard another theory is that Davis set up a Go Fund Me* account, and wanted to "juice" it, since it really is a pass through back to himself.

Remember Go Fund Me wouldn't accept police officer accused if job related shootings. They are loving the left's con men. It's probably fronted by the Clinton Foundation.

Tell me more about Trump's personal attorney, who himself is now a convicted felon needing Lanny to represent him...makes this all about protecting the Clintons.
