OKLAHOMA CITY — The Oklahoma House gave final legislative approval on Tuesday to a bill that would make performing an abortion a felony, punishable by up to 10 years in prison.

With little discussion and no debate, the Republican-controlled House voted 70-14 to send the bill to Republican Gov. Kevin Stitt, who has previously said he'd sign any anti-abortion bill that comes to his desk.

The Oklahoma bill, which passed the Senate last year, makes an exception only for an abortion performed to save the life of the mother,

So - no exceptions for rape/incest.

It's only a matter of time before the Supreme Court get's an RvW case and over-turns it.
Not a matter of "if" anymore. Now it's "when".

Roe is quite safe, as Gorsuch, Kavanaugh and Barrett all assured us in their confirmation hearings that they respected precedent.

I'm kidding, of course. They were lying.

But it's possible that they may decide in Orwellian fashion to save Roe but rule that states can restrict it into non-existence.

it again shows the disdain for American values, the declaration of independence and the amendment of the US constitution in which it says that:

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

It is an act of pure evil to deny women the freedom to choose.

Darn!

What's wrong with those pols in Oklahoma?

Don't they realize that abortions are necessary in case family planning goes awry?

Not only does abortion prevent a future human being from having to endure this vale of tears, but it also prevents the birth of unwanted babies, some of whom go on to become violent criminals.

Sure glad that the Supreme Court will strike it down, especially now that Justice Jackson will soon be on the bench.

And maybe one or even more liberal Justices may be appointed by President Biden.

Thank goodness for abortion.

The S. Ct. already has one, and it's been argued. It's a matter of very little time before we get their ruling. They could uphold Roe (not likely), they could entirely ditch it (more likely, but still not likely), or they could simply modify it to let the MI 15-week ban stand, while completely punting on the stricter bans which aren't before them.

Women know the risks of having sex. If they are unprepared to have a child they should keep their legs crossed.
That only makes them look more sexy.

You seem to forget that pregnancy often requires male participation. And your comment no doubt is engraved on a plaque on the wall in the “Barefoot and Pregnant” museum, right next to the crowd favorite, “She was asking for it.”

If it's a good enough answer to give men who impregnate women, it's a good enough answer to give women too.

Since the topic of abortion has been a hot topic for better than half a century and because it is regularly discussed and debated by voters and politicians alike, is any Discussion really necessary by the body that holds control and the votes needed to pass such bill?

No, it isn't. It's a slightly insane answer as it's never happened in the history of humanity and never will.

Judges don't keep their legs closed either. Come back to the real world... we have cookies.
As if you or anyone else knows what's going on under a judges robe. It's like 8th wonder of the world.

They're just people. Same thing goes on under their robes as under our bathrobes. Seriously, come back to earth, it's spring!

A third of U.S. men say they use condoms at least some of the time when they have sex, a new government survey shows. But just 19 percent of men reported condom use every time they had sex, the survey from the National Center for Health Statistics found.

………..

Actually , 92 percent of women in the United States are being responsible for their fertility by using Birth control consistently.
( unless they are currently pregnant or are actively trying to become pregnant.)

Info from :

https://www.self.com/story/report-two-thirds-women-use-birth-control

From the article :

Oh, and as for 35.1 percent of women who aren’t using contraception?

They’re not all just having unsafe sex.

About half of them (17 percent of the respondents) hadn’t had sex in the past three months while the rest were either pregnant, postpartum or trying to conceive (7.5 percent),
or, indeed, sexually active but not using protection (7.9 percent).

……..

To be fair the less than 8 percent of woman who are sexually active but are not using an artificial birth control may be using a more natural method such as the rhythm method.

Maybe because of the pill, IUDs, the patch, or other female options. Some of them want children. Many are in stable, long term relationships and aren't worried about disease. What's your point?

If Roe v Wade is overturned, you will get your wish. I foresee marriages breaking up, couples ceasing to live together, women choosing not to have sex, girls refusing to date, and law enforcement classes in self-defense having many more women enroll.

About a year and some months ago, a small group of feminists in South Korea became notorious for their slogan: "No dating, no sex, no marriage, no babies." It took less than a year for the Supreme Court in SK to declare that the SK anti-abortion law was unconstitutional.

Silly of me to at least hope there’d be some discussion over the barbaric idea of preventing a rape/incest victim the opportunity to abort a resulting pregnancy.
