Blend what in with the wall?I notice others have used this forum for advice, so I need some.
I applied some silicone caulking around a window and would like to blend it in with the wall. Which paint should I use? Melamine is my preferred but some have suggested Semi-Gloss. I like to avoid an oil based paint.
the caulk, the window frame is wood stained. I don't like the look of the white caulking, so want to paint over it.Blend what in with the wall?
The caulk? The window frame?
I tend to use a semi gloss on wood trim - be that window trim/baseboards, etc and then a flat or a satin finish paint on the walls.
I’ve only heard of melamine type paint being used on wooden furniture or cabinets, I don’t think I’ve heard of it being used in window trim or walls.
Brand wise? I prefer Sherwin Williams.

step 1 is that probably need to get a primer specifically made to go over whatever type of caulk you used. I don’t think any paint will adhere to caulk without that as a base step first.the caulk, the window frame is wood stained. I don't like the look of the white caulking, so want to paint over it.

What type of primer is going to vary by the type of caulk used.
I’d take the caulk to your local home improvement/hardware/paint store and ask them
Learn something new daily! They make paintable caulking.
I applied some silicone caulking
Not typically silicone caulking though. I do believe a primer will be needed but hoping to avoid that. They make paintable caulking.
Sorry my friend, I have no good advice. I didn't think any paint would hold over silicone. Perhaps using a colored silicone that would be acceptable over the white? Good luck. Not typically silicone caulking though. I do believe a primer will be needed but hoping to avoid that.
Any paint store will tell you lol.I notice others have used this forum for advice, so I need some.
