Hmmm, what could we do about this?Activists call them “bomb trains,” and they’re likely rolling through a town near you.
The oil boom in North Dakota and Alberta, Canada, has put a record number of train cars on tracks carrying hundreds of thousands of barrels of crude oil each day all across the U.S. Several accidents have already happened, and local leaders say it is a matter of time until more occur.
"The fuels that they're carrying now are very volatile so, in a highly residential area, an accident like that would be devastating,” Barrington, Illinois, Fire Chief Jim Arie told Fox News.

Be more responsible. Advocating for a meaningless side project is just distracting us from bigger problems at hand.
If there were some way to pipe this stuff away from there instead of putting it on wheels...
Meaningless side project?

I thought I heard about a proposal to build something that was far safer, far more reliable, and cheaper too. What was that?Oil trains put US on target for more derailments, warn experts | Fox News

Can't quite put my finger on it, but there was something. If there were some way to pipe this stuff away from there instead of putting it on wheels...
Yup. Pretty obvious to most thinking, just not presidents.Wow, experts say if there's more trains then there's more likely to be train derailments.
Exactly. Obama has seen fit to veto the Keystone-XL pipeline and put all the towns and neighborhoods through which the trains travel at risk, when there's a far better solution that many would rather have.Ask Obama.

"Women and children, and especially minorities will be at risk." Isn't that the usual old line from the Left? Obama will have blood on his hands. Seems an obvious political blunder on his part. A clear case of "I told you so".
Doooo it for the chillllldddrennn!
There are pipelines all over the country, they just made this one political because the econazis went into attention whore mode.
Yeah, pretty much. Ecomenalists. What's that famous little political quote overheard once: "I don't use oil. I ride the bus"?
Ranks right up there with "We should just stop using oil."
A distinct lack of understanding of the many, many, many things which petroleum is a source material for.
I challenge anyone to actually live without consuming any oil, or any product / thing in which oil plays a part.
I think you'd have to be living like back in the 1800 or 1700's. You first. Good luck with that.
Many of those people have gone into stupid mode.
