Senators refused, 35 to 61 to end tax breaks for oil and gas firms, even though their earnings rate was higher than all other major firms. Proving once again that big business runs the Congress.

What you fail to mention is that many of the subsidies and tax breaks for these companies are for nuclear power, energy-efficient cars and buildings, and renewable fuels research and other things such as a tax deduction for domestic production of oil and gas.

That's because big business can do what the government and the green economy combined can't...create jobs.

Not to mention big government is the Leviathan that forces these companies to drill in 5000 feet of water instead of 500.

Possibly, but they make more than enough profit to pay for it themselves and still satisfy their investors.

It's also a waste of government money because these companies haven't came up with one new workable development or good idea in the last fifteen years.

Lets face it. Congress gives them tax breaks because they want political donations, not for future pipe dreams.

Big business doesn't do any of that :) . Enterpreneurs do that. Fact, most of the people employed in this country are in small/mid-sized companies.
