Tom Noe, the Bush Pioneer fundraiser from Ohio, has been sentenced to 18 years in prison for theft, corrupt activity, money laundering, forgery, and tampering with records.

Earlier, Noe had received a 2 1/2 year sentence in Federal court for funneling laundered money to the Bush 2004 campaign.

This whole mess is the episode that dealt a death blow to the GOP political machine in Ohio, and which turned that state from solid red to solid blue in less than a year. Republican chances in 2008 depend upon restoring their image in Ohio, since no Republican has ever become President without that state's electoral votes. With the exit of the Neocons from the GOP, the restoration of Conservative values must now be the number one Republican goal.
