do the candidates need to be seconded to be on the ballot?
Who all is nominated thus far (as of today?)
I am going to close the nomination process very soon, so if there's someone you'd like to nominate, do it now
In the meantime, I'm going to second Haymarket, Jesse Booth, and d0gbreath
Uh-oh......Paleocon doesn't even believe in free speech. If a second is needed, I'll second Paleocon.
Uh-oh......Paleocon doesn't even believe in free speech.
If he wins the VP spot, he'll be next in line for the presidency.
Given the seditious rumblings against Sangha on another thread, Paleocon might actually become Prez.
This convention would never survive a Paleocon regime, I think Paleo would probably declare himself emperor.
I'm voting for Jesse Booth......we're friends....maybe he'll buy me lunch.
are we allowed to sell our votes?
I hope each candidate does a "vote for me" statement here! or have they done that and I missed it?
I wanted to second Paleocon because without him, we wouldn't have a slot for VP.
Does it violate this convention's rules to give reasons to NOT vote for a particular candidate? Is negative campaigning allowed? Just asking.
I just assumed we could.are we allowed to sell our votes?
No public campaigns have been conducted.I hope each candidate does a "vote for me" statement here! or have they done that and I missed it?
Be careful with Paleo.I wanted to second Paleocon because without him, we wouldn't have a slot for VP.
And if you can manage to find a buyer, you can do whatever you want with your vote. It's yours after all
Okay....my assumption is confirmed.
I am anticipating a flood ofbribesoffers competing for my vote....
Gosh, I already feel like a congressman.
Be careful with Paleo.
He's got that lean and hungry look.
Hopefully, President Sangha's security agents haven't been compromised.
Swiss bank accounts are SO last century.I think it's time to start setting up those swiss bank accounts! I'm sure our votes are worth LOTS!!
I think our new republic may be turning into a banana republic.oh dear... wolves among the sheep... .coups... uprisings... .riots in the streets!
Just to be clear, do additional nominations count as being seconded?
Swiss bank accounts are SO last century.
The Cayman Islands are the new, hip money laundering/secret account mecca.
I think our new republic may be turning into a banana republic.
Sangha will probably evolve from our president into a military strong-man.
We'll be referred to as the North American Honduras.
I'm doubtful that Sangha is a uniform kind of guy.I want to see Sangha's uniform!
Those helicopters have been impounded by the military for use in the inevitable coup d'état. And finally he'll be able to use all those black helicopters!
I'm doubtful that Sangha is a uniform kind of guy.
He'll probably just wear the nametag..."FEARLESS LEADER".
.
Good point.um - hopefully at least a discreet pair of boxers? (grin)
Maybe a suit like the official guys in Matrix...

Honestly, this is not a big issue for me.Soon there will even be a better place - Cuba. Thanks Obama, the British Bahamas would open their bank records to the USA, so it's about time for a better money sheltering and laundering county to use.

I've got my money safely buried in my backyard.
It earns the same interest it would earn in most banks.
If your money had been in an indexed fund since 2009, it should be worth a lot more now.If I had money, I'd bury it. I have a 401K and an IRA and yet in spite of the great boom in the stock markets, they aren't booming. They aren't busting. They just ... sit there.
Long overdue.Cuba opening up is a GREAT thing. If we had done this 30 years ago, Cuba would be a thriving democracy, spending lots of money on American consumer goods. .
