NEW YORK — An Occupy Wall Street protester says police gave demonstrators little warning before kicking them out of a New York City park overnight and that officers beat several of them during the arrests. The protester, Chris Casuccio, was at Manhattan's Zuccotti Park on Saturday, where demonstrators chanted and held impromptu meetings to mark the six months since the movement against economic inequality.Police moved in around 11:30 p.m. Detective Brian Sessa says the protesters were arrested after they started breaking the park rules against setting up tents.Police say 73 people were detained. It was unclear how many were still in custody Sunday. Police say they have no information about whether protesters were beaten.Workers were hosing down the park Sunday as a handful of protesters watched from outside metal police barricades.
you know what's really ****ing sad?
I agree with many of the grievances of the Occupy Movement. I want the Glass-Steagall Act reinstated. I want more tax-brackets for the wealthy. I want the maximum tax bracket brought back to at least 38%. I want taxes on capital gains adjusted. I want it to be easier for folks to afford to be able to go to public colleges & universities. I want money out of politics.
but I no longer support OWS. and why not? because of their violent, disgraceful, disruptive, and unpatriotic actions during fall 2011. because some of their demands, are insane, greedy, and selfish. because not only do they refuse to come up with a platform, but they take pride in having no concrete platform or goals.
this makes them losers, a waste of the public's time, and one giant political tease.
this nation, needs a revolutionary social-democratic movement, that is NOT AFRAID to have goals that will be rejected by extremists. we need a movement that is willing to work with like-minded politicians.
and OWS? well they seem to be just a bunch of cowards, unwilling to stand up for something detailed & clear....out of fear that they might lose some supporters. they want to remain as vague, generalized, and non-commital as possible.
so **** them.
All i can say to you is maybe you should go to your local movement because it looks like you are falling for the painted image of the media, of flag burner, anarchists...
to protest for that long you got to be unemployed and not looking for a job.

This movement is just gearing up again. When spring comes back around i think something big will happen. The movement is planning a spring awakening..
Now, can the Occupy Movement evolve into something constructive, meaningful, & powerful?
yes. but they have to decide to have a 10 point platform. They have to be willing to disallusion many of their current supporters, for the sake of standing up for something. they have to 100% commit to non-violent protest and inform the police on instigators who intend on being violent & destructive. they have to work with & support like-minded politicians & candidates.
they have to start pushing for legitislative change, and demanding specific pieces of legislation get passed.
this is how they will start getting major support from the American people. this is how they will become the left-wing version of the Tea Party.
or...they can continue their games, bull****, and violence...and become the laughing stock of political movements.
its their choice. if they REALLY want to represent the "99%"..the road is clear.

The whole occupy movement is a leaderless movement. Anyone can be a part of it the right or the left. They have several main goals but much of the movement differs on many of the goals.

yes, there are maybe 100 different Occupy groups.
they have no unity. which is partially why they are a joke.
but you forget tea partiers are all old people, they dont need jobs they have all day to yell at them crazy yunguns stepping on their lawn.
Still that pretty much voids the claim that the occupiers are jobless bums that are hippies that just wanna sit and smoke pot all day.
Can you imagine the outcry if people celled Tea Party Folk a bunch of hicks with guns?
Same Damn thing!
