Ocasio-Cortez Could Care Less About The Federal Debt

Republicans in congress only care about the debit when it's not them purposing increases

Progessives/Democratic Socialists could care less about the debt.

I don't think anyone is a paragon of virtue when it comes to jacking up the deficit. The Republicans have had majority control of the purse strings. Dems just won majority control. Democratic socialists and ultra left progressives don't control the agenda, they will try.

This can also be applied to Democrats too just saying.

No argument there. The debt is only important as a bludgeon against opposing political points of view

This woman isn't even in Congress yet and the Trumpsters and their Fox masters are already spewing daily nonsense and lies about her.. lol

But then she's 3 for 3 on the Trumpsters hate meter, minority, a woman and a Dem.

These pay as you go 'rules' are simply a ruse, as they have existed in some form for quite a while.

But Ocasio-Cortez may not be joined by many of her fellow progressives in opposing the Democratic rules. Congressional Progressive Caucus co-chairs Mark Pocan of Wisconsin and Pramila Jayapal of Washington said in a joint statement Wednesday they plan to vote for the rules package after receiving assurances that paygo can be waived and won’t be an impediment to progressive priorities.

Rest assured that the era of big government is not over and the borrow and spend policy will continue unabated.

This is not how you reduce the deficit, like the debt ceiling all this will do is encourage the political circus act which in the end wont accomplish anything.

In other words, borrow and spend is only wrong if the other party's majority voted for it.

I don't even like the woman, but I guess it's going to be fun watching you Trump fans tinkling in your panties about her for the next 2 years.

The way they talk, you'd think she was our 2020 nominee, despite the fact that she won't even be constitutionally eligible yet.

Someone want to remind this guy of what Trump's tax cuts for the richest did to the deficit? About his huge increase for the military?

I'm just curious what delusional spin he vomits up to try to make it about the Democrats.

Extreme Right, you have nothing to say about deficits if you voted for Trump or for GWB, or even Reagan. Every time, the GOPer came riding in on a shining horse braying about needing to get government spending under control. Then they increase spending while tanking government revenue with tax cuts in a good economy.

And you keep voting for it.

And you keep bitching about the Democrats.

This can also be applied to Democrats too just saying.

Democrats actually generally want taxes to rise to the levels they were decades ago since we obviously do not have the political will to cut spending, nor do people ever truly want it....once they find out something they like will be impacted negatively for them.

Of course, that's political suicide most likely, but it is necessary.

At least they don't do what the GOP does (see prior post)

To think you people keep voting for Republicans, even though they did it to you. Have you been convinced to hate Democrats that much? It has to be that, since I cannot imagine someone would actually believe that Republicans are historically better for debts and deficits. That's like insisting the sky is red.

They always need a scapegoat. After all, they're the ones who did this ****.

Ok, but I find Republicans to be the "lesser of two evils" in comparison with Democrats. Not saying I like the Republican Party, but they're one of two choices.

If your issues are excessive spending and not paying for it, Republicans actually aren't the lesser of two evils. My words don't prove it. The numbers prove it. Republicans lost their way and ended up being just as carefree or worse about spending than Democrats, AND even worse on revenue-generation. The last two decades indicate the republicans want to spend more and pay less, while the democrats want to pay for what is spent.

You can point to loners like Ocasio-Ortiz, but the actual policy that happens under different leadership indicates that the GOP has become more careless than however careless you think the Democrats are. Has nothing to do with ideology. That's just there.

So **** all the differences between what a "real liberal" and "real conservative" and a "real libertarian/independent/whatever" are. Between those that are voted for, the GOP is worse on this count despite its lies ("alternate facts"). They have gotten away with it thus far primarily between the marriage of convenience between evangelical types and the GOP. As that fades, their failure on main platform principles will speak louder.
