The United States is no longer a "Super Power." We haven't been a "super Power" for over a year now. America is no longer able to project military power in the world. Nobody gives a #### what Obama says and they don't trust him or respect him. The USA may still be a world power but so is China, UK, Japan and even Russia. It all happened on Obama's watch and it was his agenda all along.
Secretary of State John Kerry will be representing Barack Obama. :lamo
Obama appointing John Kerry as Secretary of State was as much of an incompetent decision as having Hillary Clinton as Secretary of State.
Most Asian countries don't respect Kerry just like Russia doesn't. They remember that Kerry was an ally of Communist North Vietnam during the early 1970's and even though Kerry was on the side of North Vietnam, Red China and even the Soviet Union, nobody trust or respects a traitor to their own country.
Well, at least Obama and Team admit to it this time.
If Obama were have to gone on this trip to Asia during his and Harry Reid's government shut down, it would have been another Obama political blunder just like back when Obama seeked the Democrat nomination for President.
A competent President of a world power who has a highly respected and competent Secretary of State to deal with foreign affairs doesn't need to be traveling all over the world.
With all of Obama's galloping around the world with Michelle, Natasha and Malia in tow and even at one time an entire Navy Carrier Strike Group (the African vacation) what has Obama accomplished in the past 4 and 2/3 years ?
Maybe Obama was scared if he went to his old former home in Indonesia, Harry Reid might pick up a book on the history of America and stop playing Obama's games and pass the House budget.
So once again anti-Obama ODS types cheer for China now, just as with Pukin and ASSad.
If the POTUS goes, he's wrong, if he doesn't go he's wrong.
The story of his 56-month headwind into the disloyal GOP hurricane.
Stratfor's Analysis was that India would help to offset with the Chinese. While at the same time The Japanese would pick up any slack. Since they now have a Navy larger than that of the UK.
Try the story is Team Obama admitting they have to shift policy. It's not to difficult to figure out even for the deepest of the Kool aid drinkers. Down where it gets all syrupy likes and then that slurpin begins.
I liked your post #7 a lot better, since it made sense and spoke to the thread.
India is absolutely our ace-in-the-whole---whether it is to keep China at bay or Pakistan, their arch-enemy.
So now you want to walk back all of your cheering for Putin and ASSad.
Repubs are stepping in a lot of quick sand this week.
Think the league will hold New Orleans back so someone in the NFC South can get closer?

Yeah I am sure ya did, after ya rant.....But India isn't the Ace in the hole for the South Asian Sea. Nor was Team Obama's strategy from their own mouths about just showing up for some diplomacy and trade treaties going to work. Can't be just the paperweight in that room, and that's how the Chinese will see it.
Kerry will be there.
And if Obama had gone, your team would be up in arms.
Is there anything in foreign relations he has done right in 56 months.
I know that you poo-poo 45 straight months of private sector job growth.

Looks like both are about to get caught up.....but there does come a time to take a stand. Bout time the Repubs got some backbone. Lets hope Obama and the Dems can fight off closing all those War Memorials. Since they are soooo thankful to the Vets.
Every time Repubs admit both are wrong and getting caught up, you know you're losing the PR battle.
And we Air Force brats will not allow your phony House reps to brag on Fox how they are giddy about shutting it down
and then disgrace the memories of our Veterans by lieing to their faces that they didn't shut it down.
You may keep the House in 2014, but you will keep losing seats as in 2012.

Seems you going tangential.....puts that all into perspective.
This topic deserves it's own thread to be debated, probably under the military forum where actual debating can take place and not be buried under a bunch of off topic post.
But this is way out of Obama's league and there's nobody competent in the Obama administration to be involved and Asia knows it, it's bigger than Obama can handle.
As the war clouds are forming over the Western Pacific and South China Sea our Navy is rusting away while tied up to their wharfs.
Japan this year has already wrote off America. India is allied with Russia and are trying to put a blue water navy to sea. (Indian sailors have to start wearing shoes while on a warship.) The P.I's and Vietnam are building up their navies for war. Russia is building three new fleets and one of those fleets is being specifically designed to fight in that part of the world. And China is about where Imperial Japan was in the mid/late1920's.
Japan has just launched it's first post WW ll carrier a couple of months ago. Also Japan's Congo class destroyers are something to be reckoned with. China has one carrier and will be building three more.
And what does Obama do, classify U.S. Navy hospital ships and garbage scows as warships to make our navy look larger to Congress than it really is.
So you have no come-back to disgraceful House members bragging on Fox about shutting it down and then lieing to Veterans that they would never do that. You brought it up in post #12.
I threw Up a thread yesterday on the Islamist Groups that are networking. Which has all concerned. So its not surprising to see him backwalk the Asian policy.
The T's have made America a laughing stock in the world. We can't even keep our Govt. open. If they keep it up they will lower our credit rating again too.
