Of course, that uninsured demographic was the prime reason for its implementation. Only 26% of the enrollees reported being previously uninsured. By a three-to-one margin, enrollees in Obamacare were previously insured.
This lends credence to the often heard criticism by Republicans that Obama's reform program caused more people to lose insurance then it did to insure the uninsured. So it is difficult to see where Obamacare benefitted those who President Obama said it was going to benefit - the uninsured.
Blame the Republicans. Twenty-six states, all dominated by Republicans, refused to expand Medicaid. That denied coverage to many uninsured and, because of that, over 17,000 Americans are likely to die. Let the Republicans explain that in the coming campaign.
Wait...are you saying that the purpose of Obamacare was to expand Medicaid? If so, what is all the rest of that crappy bill for?
You are going to have to come up with a reasonable explanation about that if you don't want me to put you in the make-any-excuse-that'll-fly category.

Most of the uninsured were to be covered by Medicaid expansion. The Republicans made that impossible.
This was a survey of people signing up through the exchanges. Medicaid has nothing to do with it.

Sure but the article suggests PPACA is a failure because of the survey's results.

It is a failure.. The enrollment results are just one reason.
We've taken people that had and were paying for their own insurance, and moved them to getting money from taxpayers... This was not the purpose of the exchanges in any way.
I thought the idea behind Obamacare was to reduce the need for Medicaid. To provide all the people who were uninsured with "much needed" health coverage. Sounds like one more failure to keep a promise to me.
PPACA was designed to use Medicaid to cover those who didn't have enough income to meet the Exchange minimum.

Really? Did Obama, Pelosi or Reid ever say that most of the uninsured were to be covered by Medicaid expansion? I may have missed that, but I don't think I've ever heard them say such a thing. You got a link?
In any case, I'll ask again...if that was their aim, why did they need all the rest of the crap in that law?
Then what were the subsidies for?
Then what were the subsidies for?
They are for those who met the minimum for the Exchange but couldn't afford insurance.

They were the smart States.
How much has been wasted to set up broken exchanges in Left wing states ?
You should be thanking those Governors
They are for those who met the minimum for the Exchange but couldn't afford insurance.
Why the subsidy though? Why wasn't their goal to expand Medicaid to them too?
They couldn't afford insurance, yet a bulk had insurance.
The subsidy was necessary because insurance is unaffordable. As for expanding Medicaid, you'll have to ask Congress. I don't know.
