You've got your repetitive regurgitated TPs all lined up for Veterans' weekend..btw, your K belongs with the RepubLie Kons this century..you couldn't possibly imagine what my Chem/physics students learned unless you finished as high as Carter did at the Naval AcademyOh my, I wonder what it was like in your classroom?
Did Republicans try to destroy Carter? No
Felonious Bill Clinton caused his own problems.
Obama said he'd be a uniter, said there was no red or blue America, just the US of A... and then on Day 1 tells R's they can't listen to Rush and get things done. Obama has lied about Benghazi, run guns to Mexico, slandered a cop as stupid, and lied, lied and lied about ObamaKare.
Demokrats ought to try running honest people.
Nixon or Obama... who is the more sinister liar?
Peace came in Vietnam because Congress refused any more funding, not because Nixon wanted it. Nixon won in 1968 because he had a "secret plan" to end the war...FIVE YEARS later when we surrendered the country to North Vietnam. There is no honor in anything Nixon did in Vietnam but plenty of shame.

Anyone who doesn't say Nixon is a partisan hack.
I wouldn't go that far. "I am not a crook" is not leaps and bounds more dishonest than "if you like your policy, you can keep your policy".
This is, of course, presuming that you believe Obama's statement is a lie as opposed to a case of immense stupidity. Pick your poison.

It really does take a certain level of GOP-worship to say Obama lies worse than Nixon.
Political shortcut. If we look at the actual policies being eliminated, him explaining it back then would have complicated matters. But, he probably should have mentioned that crappy, under-insured policies would be swept away.

A liar is a liar, but Nixon takes the cake in the "sinister" department.
Obama is just a smooth-talking mediocrity caught in the web of his party's unworkable policies.
Now, Nixon truly was a "transformational figure": from his disastrous economic policies to his cynical "Southern strategy", we are still living with dire consequences of his actions.
For most people, that statement is true. The reason people are losing their coverage is because it sucks too bad, the ACA has provisions in it where policies must keep a certain standard of coverage, and since about 5% of people's policies don't meet those standards, they lose those policies.
Was it a lie? Yeah, technically, but his statement does apply to most Americans. Trying to compare Obama to Nixon is just ridiculous.
Well, "Read my lips - no new taxes" was "right for most people" as well, and Herbie Bush caught a lot of crap too. Hell, if you wanna play that game, we can argue what Slick Willie meant by "sexual relations" that he did not have.
You're not doing your fellow Democrats any favors by attempting to quantify or justify his "lie".

Yeah, I'd say it's about as equal to the first Bush's no new taxes line; was it wrong? Yeah. Does it scar his entire presidency? Hell no. I'm not trying to justify it, just put it in context and point out the absurdity in people trying to compare him with one of the most corrupt Presidents in our history.
He's not even in the top 10%, YS. Lincoln suspended habeus corpus and jailed dissentors. Harding essentially made himself available to the highest bidder (Teapot Dome). There are presidents out there who did much worse than Nixon, but he's everyone's favorite scapegoat. He was guilty of excessive ambition and turning a blind eye.

It always puzzled me that Nixon was one of the most Liberal Presidents of all time, yet he is absolutely reviled by Democrats.
Then you have Kennedy, one of the most Conservative in the last century, yet he is praised.
This tells me it is all about their party, and not their actual beliefs or agendas.

True, almost no one was HURT by Nixon's lies
See my post about partisan hacks, TD.
At least Nixon had the gumption to resign when he was caught in lies and scandal. Obama just whines and tries to pin things on the Republicans.
Absolutely hilarious. Was this before or after he made numerous public speeches and appearances emphatically denying his involvement? How about the destruction of the pertinent evidence that implicated him in his lie and scandal? Attempted to fire the prosecutor assigned to the case? Till his last days he balked at the notion of resigning, only doing so when Congress and his own party vowed to impeach. Just an historically bankrupt post.At least Nixon had the gumption to resign when he was caught in lies and scandal.
