I've personally known a few hundred Latino gang members during my lifetime, I grew up in L.A. County where the first two Latino gangs were formed in the late 1890's.

I've also known Pachucos. One of my best friends was a member of White Fence, probably the oldest American Latino gangs in East L.A.

But we aren't talking about American Latino gangs but Latino illegal alien gangs.

During the 1970's and 80's illegal aliens weren't allowed to join the established American Latino gangs. Mexican illegal aliens were looked down on by Americans of Mexican descent. So the illegal aliens started their own gangs, M-13, 18th Street, the Loapers, and a few hundred more.

According to the L.A. County Sheriffs Department, 50% of all gang members in L.A.Co. are illegal aliens.

Starting around the 1990's the anchor babies of illegal aliens were allowed to join some of the original established American Latino street gangs.

Unlike other ethnic gangs found in America today, most illegal alien and anchor baby gang bangers hold down a job. Predomintaly in the construction trades, drywallers, framers, roofers and labors. They can be seen driving through neighborhoods in pickup trucks loaded with lawn mowers, those noisy blowers and cutting your lawn. They bus tables, wash dishes and flip burgers in the restaurant industry. Most citizens in SoCal have a daily contact with illegal alien gang bangers usually not being aware who they really are.
