The GOP is in favor of allowing corporate corruption, political interference by major corporations and basically throwing the poor under a bus. This is unacceptable. The right must be prevented from allowing these actions.
ALL CORPORATE WELFARE MUST BE STOPPED.
No tax breaks for big business or it's officers.
75% tax on all corporate bonuses handed out to corporate officers. (This money can then be put into a fund to assist the poor with food, medicine, and basic life necessities)
The long hot summer I am thinking about is when some of the unemployed, whose benefits have expired (thanks to the republicans), go postal.
There is stuff going on in Oakland, right now, that may also grow. Plus we have immigration reform on the burner. Plus, we have two wars going on, a world wide recession, just saying, you know.
And that is going to somehow win the Democrats votes?
Also, benefits are already available for up to two years. The vast majority of people ought to be able to find work in a two year period.
Yes we have all of these things... so what? The solution is to pay people not to work for longer?
Hell yes, there are plenty of burger flippers needed.
Just because you might feel you are too good for a job, does not mean that you are not able to get one. If I was unemployed, I would go out and flip burgers while I kept looking for another job.
Trucking companies are hiring. Beware the new CSA 2010 is going to screw drivers. I would like to find another type of job to get out before the government destroys the transportation industry
Not me, I would spend my time looking for a fair wage job. I would do volunteer work for free before I would work for minimum wage.
CSA 2110? What it is?
Fine, but do not expect sympathy when your benefits run out.
You assume too much. I am not, nor ever have received unemployment compensation.
New government program to control drivers and screw us while companies get a pass. Many will lose jobs and we will once again have a driver shortage. more big brother watching you and the government has complete control of what you do
Trucking news: Carrier executives remain concerned about CSA 2010, future driver shortage - Article from Logistics Management
That was more a generalization. Point being your idea that some jobs are below you is not all that uncommon it seems. But the point remains, if you won't take a job because you want something better and then your benefits run out, don't expect sympathy.
("You" here being just a generalization and not you personally)
That's what I would call over regulation. Sounds like a way for the government to collect some more money.
My trade, carpenter, has no regulations or oversight even though it should because of the many issues involved regarding construction of buildings. I am always hearing about a construction defect causing loss of life.
Most contractors love it unregulated, though, because they can hire cheap incompetent labor at half the price of a qualified carpenter.
The governments always goes to extremes one way or another.
Follow the money, I guess.
That is correct it is more about the fines and control then it is safety. I am looking for a way out
Does this new law apply to nafta drivers?
It will apply to all commercial drivers If you have a CDL it applies
Do any of the truck driver unions support it?
