Obama stated prior to his first election that if he did not get the budget after his first term he would not run for second term. Just another lie by the biggest liar to ever be elected president.........

No he didn't.

So what is your point? Do you have one or did you think we needed another meandering "I hate Obama" thread?

Not only that, but the claim Navy Pride is making isn't true. Obama never once posited any conditions under which he would automatically not run for a second term.

There is no shortage of things Obama said and didn't do. Doesn't matter, he ran and was elected to a second term. That's why I question the point.

I ask this question in all seriousness Navy, what president in 50 years has kept ALL his promises that he made? It's not excusing not keeping them, just saying that no president in that time has kept ALL his promises and BOTH sides have made excuses for it.

Probably none but to make one like this and then ignore it is outrageous.

He never said he wouldn't run again. Did. Not. Happen. You are willfully misconstruing his words in order to have another anti-Obama lashout.

This thread, and your subsequent replies, are content-free drivel.

It's outrageous when ANY president does it, but BOTH sides have excused their respective presidents from doing it. The Repubs did it with Bush (and past Repub presidents) and the Dems do it with Obama (and past Dem presidents). No side is clean Navy, no side. To pretend otherwise is to deny reality.

The problem with the narrative of the OP (besides that it is a lying narrative) is that everybody underestimated the devastation of the Great Bush Recession. Bush destroyed the construction sector and the financial sector. There simply was no other recession to compare it to. The original estimates for Q4 2008 GDP were -3.8 %. It was revised numerous times and finally ended up at -8.9 %. And of course the OP has to pretend that pubs havn't been fighting President Obama every step of the way to reduce the deficit and improve the economy. Until cons realize that pubs rely on their ignorance, nothing will change

(editor's note. The BEA links wont work until the end of the Republican shutdown)

"
Real gross domestic product -- the output of goods and services produced by labor and property
located in the United States -- decreased at an annual rate of 3.8 percent
"

"
In the fourth quarter of 2008, which immediately followed the 2008 financial crisis, economic activity fell sharply. BEA’s initial, or “advance” estimate of GDP for the quarter, which was released on January 30, 2009, showed a decrease of 3.8 percent at an annual rate. In the second estimate, which was released on February 27, 2009, the revised estimate showed a decrease of 6.2 percent. Since then, the estimate has been revised several more times (in March 2009, July 2009, July 2010, and July 2011), and the latest estimate shows a decrease of 8.9 percent.

NP, Obama had not taken into account Hurricane TEAt/Cantor, whose eye has been over DC for 60 months..

1st Repub denial..
Bush destroyed the construction sector and the financial sector. There simply was no other recession to compare it to.
2nd denial of Repubs..
The original estimates for Q4 2008 GDP were -3.8 %. It was revised numerous times and finally ended up at -8.9 %.
These are astonishingly horrific numbers, ones Repubs lamely blame on the 2007 Pelosi congress
And of course the OP has to pretend that pubs havn't been fighting President Obama every step of the way to reduce the deficit and improve the economy. Until cons realize that pubs rely on their ignorance, nothing will change
Repub posters viciously deny this ultimate truth, that the sabotage gambit has been out there 60 months.
