he White House says President Barack Obama has pardoned 78 people and shortened the sentence of 153 others convicted of federal crimes. It's the most number of individual clemencies in a single day by any president.
Obama has been granting commutations at rapid-fire pace in his final months in office, but he has focused primarily on shortening sentences rather than pardons. Pardons amount to forgiveness of a crime that removes restrictions on the right to vote and lessens the conviction stigma.
Neil Eggleston, Obama's White House counsel, says Obama has now pardoned a total of 148 people during his presidency and has shortened the sentences of 1,176 people, including 395 serving life sentences.

It's a power all President's have and all Presidents use. I'm willing to trust any chief executive who uses his pardon power to use it in the interest of justice.
Without knowing the crimes in question nor the circumstances of any of the pardons and commutations, none of this means anything.
Im simply asking a question using your logic around the subject of Presidential pardons. You seem to be saying President Obama "likes criminals" because he is using his Presidential power to pardon individuals who have been convicted of a federal crime. Just about every other President in our history has used the same power to do the same thing. Does this mean then that other Presidents also "like criminals"

It's my understanding that they are part of Obama's clemency initiative. Basically non-violent offenders that have already served 10 or more years in prison.

How do you figure that? I like justice. I like criminals that serve sentences that are commensurate with the crimes they committed. That is not the same as liking criminals. Or do I have to agree with life imprisonment for spitting on the sidewalk to "not like criminals"?
