Here's a question for all the liberals on this board. Has a poor person ever offered any of you a job? Why then does Obama want to kill off the job creators in this country by taxing them to death? He looked like a whipped puppy on TV announcing the bipartisan agreement that was reached with Republicans on the tax cuts and unemployment extentions. He should have been celebrating. I think he's feelling the pressure from the far left wing loons in his party. "Millionaires-and-billionaires" are the job creators, not the government. I love how liberals have turned those words into just one word. :lamo

No threat against you as a person Turtle. Just a prediction of what I see ahead for us as a nation. My comments are geared toward the inevitable resolution of this issue that is inevitable. I had hope such unpleasantness would never happen in my time. I had hoped that Obama was indeed the hope and the rush towards a fascist corporate state where the rich ruled and the rest of us were on the road to serfdom was going to be avoided. But it looks like that has failed.

Things will get worse. The deficit will now grow by nearly 800 billion dollars. The Republicans who blackmailed the nation into this unholy bargain will use it to axe programs benefitting the middle class. When SS is cut while the rich eat caviar and spit in our faces, the cauldron will boil and then boil over. I had hoped this could be averted. But I am now convinced we just took a big step towards that sort of evil.

Rejoice today. We will all cry tomorrow.

You obviously have been listening to this too many times

You must be talking about the unemployment benefits extentions. Yea, I agree, but the Republicans had to compromise. :)

I'm only following the lead of your fearless leader. He keeps demonizing the producers in this country. Why don't you tell him to "moveon.org" and buy a new drum to beat. You obviously have no problem listening to his same old sad song. He sounds like a parrot, "Polly wants a cracker, barrrack." His name even fits.

Dude. Threatening people is not cool.

Oh yeah!! Well that's rich!! And so's your mother!!

I love the depth of liberals thinking. They could all drown in one saucer of water. Tell me, Einstein, what exactly is "yours" that we're inevitably going to get, inevitiably? Mindless people who say things like what you posted are the one who fill the ranks of the American Communist Party. They only have a reptilian brain stem and lash out reflexively at things they'll never understand. Poor people will never offer any one a job because they want everythng done for them. They make great Marxists which is why Marxism is always doomed to fail. Are you going to bust your ass so I can sit on mine? I think we all know the answer to that question. That's what's inevitably coming down the line, inevitably.

Dude. Threatening people is not cool.

There is no threat there - either explicit or implied. If you read my other posts on this you would know this.

It is my very strong suspicion that right now we are in the equal of the decade of the 1850's - a time when the nation was badly divided and was ill served by politicians unable to face the real problems of the nation and come together to do anything about it. The result was the Civil War and I will spare you the oft quoted blood soaked statistics. I also suspect that the great struggle before us is the growing divide between classes and the amount of wealth that is disproportionately in the hands of the very wealthy. The American Dream for many in the middle class is dying. We only have forgotten about the poorest and someday they will remind us that they are still there.

I do not want to see class warfare in the USA take place in the streets and have it taken to a physical level where people are hurt. I want to avoid that as it would destroy many people and perhaps destroy America itself.

The very rich have a choice. They can give up some of what they have taken for themselves going back thirty years when all this crap started with Reagan and restore the Middle Class to vibrancy, or they can continue to grab even more for themselves, attempt to politically silence the rest of us and allow the cauldron to boil over. If they do that, they will get what is coming to them. Sadly, lots of other people will suffer as well.

Do you think it is any accident that the radical right is floating stupid ideas like this net taxpayer BS and restricting the votes of tens of millions of people? Its all part of a scheme to turn this nation into a semi-fascist corporatist state. And the really sad thing is that far too many who use bumper sticker cliches like FREEDOM and LIBERTY are enabling it regardless if they intend to or not.

The other day I was watching the excellent Frank Capra film MEET JOHN DOE. Boy does that fit right into today with the John Doe Clubs standing in for the tea party and the manipulation of populism by rich right wingers. Its nearly prophetic.

Dude. Threatening people is not cool.
That wasn't really a threat. (Now this is a knife. First Crocodile Hunter movie. ) It was just childish prattle from a child.

When I was a child I was taught that when you pointed your finger blaming someone else you should remember that you have three others pointing right back at you. If you do not understand that, point right now at the computer and see it. Childish? Look at those three other fingers of your own.

And your reaction is a perfect illustration of just what is happening to this country in the name of the ideology of selfishness.

My friend, you are seriously depraved. You think we're in the pre-civil war era? Have you got your musket loaded?
By "the very rich", do you mean people like evil George Soros who purposely tries to collapse the economy of countries for hisown personal gain or someone like Bill Gates who is in the process of giving all the billions of dollars he's made away to charities? You need to clear up your thinking.

We are in an era which spells danger for our nation, for our way of governing and for our way of life. America is a democratic republic and we cannot survive or even just thrive if we become a South American type nation where a small number live in luxurious splendor and the rest see a diminishing of their lives and property. Simply put, sooner or later it is going to hit the fan. You can get away with it in a authoritarian state - for a while - perhaps a long while. But in a representative democracy where the people can vote, sooner or later they will wake up and take action.

Reforms to stop this trend towards the South American model must start now. Sadly, the tax cut move yesterday only moved us closer to it.

Why do you think that the right wingers here are promoting the foolish scheme around the idea of "net taxpayers"? The see what is coming down the road and see depriving millions of their right to vote as the answer to their problems. There are pieces of the puzzle on the table - all you have to do is put them together.

In the end, it matters not if you want to play ostrich and drink the Kool aid of the ideology of selfishness. Others see what is happening and sooner or later they will act. I hope it is done within our democratic framework.

I would suggest you read this

It is NOT about ideology but about a theory of history that is extremely well researched and thought out. We are now already there .

Your comments about pre-civil war conditions in this country actually echo what Glenn Beck has been saying for the last two years. The media and people have been calling him crazy and a fear monger. This country is on the same path as Europe and it's obvious how much trouble they're in. California is the Greece of the EU. New York is the Spain and Protugal. Germany is being forced to keep bailing out Europe and the rest of the US is going to be forced to bail out California. Now, why are we in this predicament? It's because of Socialism. The welfare societies of Europe and California, with everything being "free", have finally overloaded their ability to pay their bills. We are all going to go bankrupt. People like George Soros have been planning for this day for years. He and people like him have a "new world order" in mind. He wants one global "country". He even has a global language for everyone to speak called Esperanza. Soros was born a Jew and his name was Schwartz. Soros, in Esperanza, means "to soar". What's coming for this country willl make the depression days of the thirties look like a church picnic. Fortunately, I'm already sixty-six years old and pretty well protected. Unfortunately, I have a thirty-five year old son who's going to have a lot to endure before things get turned back around. The rest of you had better do some serious preparing for the hard times ahead. When we come out of it, the words progressive and Obama will be followed by a spit on the ground.

read the FOURT TURNING book VF and then decide what you think.

Just look at the Citizens United case ruling and what it means for America. A right wing Supreme Court dominated by ideological extremists willingly wiped away a century of reform and voted to allow corporations the right to buy our democracy with unlimited monies. This comes at the same time that right wingers are floating this "net taxpayer"crap and setting the stage to attempt to restrict the democratic vote in this nation. Its all coming together in a very ugly way.

sooner or later, if we do not reverse this dangerous trend, this song is going to make a very big comeback

It has nothing to do with whether the person is a rich liberal or a rich conservative, at the end of the day it is nothing but class warfare against the poor.

Maybe you should look at this video
