(CNN)President Barack Obama's long wait to hit the campaign trail is about to come to an end. With Hillary Clinton set on Tuesday to secure enough delegates and become the presumptive Democratic nominee, the White House is signaling that Obama's full endorsement could come as early as this week.

White House officials and Democratic aides are still determining how and when Obama, along with Vice President Joe Biden, will throw their formal endorsements behind Clinton and her campaign. Eager to exploit his recent spike in popularity, Obama is looking to become the most active lame duck campaigner in recent presidential history.
Even as Sen. Bernie Sanders pledges to keep fighting until the Democratic convention, Clinton and her allies are planning a major push to unify the party behind her candidacy, including a high-profile endorsement Obama is poised to deliver as soon as this week, two Democrats familiar with the effort tell CNN.

Could very well happen that this week will be the week that Obama will officially throw his hat behind a candidate for the 2016 Presidential election, and it looks like that candidate will be Hillary Clinton. Two top Democratic officials have claimed that Obama will most likely throw his endorsement behind Clinton sometime this week and his office is currently working with her campaign on when and how the endorsement will be announced. I honestly cannot say I am surprised. Im glad he has mainly remained neutral for this long.

I disagree, I think he'll remain neutral like Warren. Endorsing Clinton will only further fan the flames, infuriate and alienate Sanders and his supporters. I strongly think that Obama wouldn't risk that with the looming possibility of a Trump presidency. He should only endorse Clinton after the California primary, and only if she wins.

You don't think that they've already discussed, negotiated and shaken on the deal and timing?

This dude's regime is coming to a end soon. It doesn't matter who, what, where and why he endorses.
I'm confident President-elect Trump will prevail.
With queen wannabe Hillary,no one wants a continuation of liberal rule for another four years.

No one....with the possible exception of 50% of the country.

It sounds like this week means after the primaries tomorrow. They're just planning it now because there is an upwards of 99% chance Clinton clinched a majority of pledged delegates.

Well the California primary is tomorrow. So if Clinton wins he could be in a strong position to endorse.
