Effective commerical?

What was the message he was trying to get across? If not for the title of this thread and his name at the end of the commercial, I wouldn't have had any idea if that was a really bad pro-Hillary commercial or a really bad anti-Hillary commercial.

Umm......
So... Obama is trying to appeal to the voters who have actually read the novel 1984.

How about the millions of others who don't get it... like me.

Im pretty certain you'd have to know at least a little bit about 1984 to understand the commercial.

And since I don't know anything about it... im lost.....

What a dumbass....

While I greatly appreciate the humor and the message behind a mashup of the infamous 1984 superbowl commercial, where do you get the idea that this is actually Obama's commercial?
His campaign has its own youtube sign in, and the posters of the video (there are three) are not any of his. Just because someone got clever with the commercial and stuck obama's web address at the end doesn't make it his.

His website does not feature this as one of his, and doesn't mention the "commercial" period.

I read 1984 and it still didn't make sense to me. What am I missing? And is he actually calling a fellow Democrat a fascist?

I wonder what he's going to say about this when he loses to her and has to give her his endorsement. It'll probably be like, "oh, yeah, about that time I called Hillary a fascist mother****... yeah i was just kidding about that."

Yeah, I guess that makes Apple a bunch of dumbasses when they shot the original hit commercial and played it during the super bowl, right?

Its not "Obamas" commercial. Its a fan's mashup of a famous old Apple commercial.

The apple commercial was also parodied on Futurama once :)

and i like the iPod on the runner for a nice little nod to the original

The closest relevance that I could draw between Hilary and 1984 would be that Hilary supported this authoritarian administration at one point while Obama never did. The lines chosen for the supposed "propaganda" speal was "we need to be one team" bla bla bla. AS for any other reference, I'm quite lost - couldn't see anything about Obama until the very end.

The O in the Apple tradmark form should give you a good idea that this is just a Youtube parody and not a real Obama ad. It could be....but I highly doubt it.!

That's the crapiest Star Wars preview I've ever seen.

I thought it was an MTV commercial....wth....did she have an Ipod on her? Obama is once again selling out.
