This shoulda been put in the first place, as an alternative to BOcare.:2wave:

<President Obama is calling on Congress to add a “public option” to ObamaCare to improve his signature health law.>
<The pitch from Obama comes after he abandoned pursuit of a government-run insurance plan to compete with private insurers during the long legislative battle over healthcare because of opposition from some Democrats in Congress.>

<Obama’s call for the public option echoes Clinton’s, though Clinton goes farther in that she does not limit her proposal to certain areas and calls for the ability to buy into Medicare starting at age 55.>
<The moves also come at a time when Sanders has electrified much of the Democratic base through his proposal to go even further, and provide single-payer healthcare for everyone.>

I say push it hard, it should've been in from the beginning - but better yet: Follow Bernie's lead & go single-payer!

Make it simple, Medicare for all.:rock

Yes, that's a good example of a workable & easily implemented single-payer system!

Only the insurance companies are holding us back.

Well, he can do it now, he's a lame duck with nothing to lose. It's what he was afraid to do when he started this thing.

Not sure that I'm surprised. I keep hearing that healthcare providers are dropping out of the online exchanges, and exchanges collapsing / ceasing operations.

Insurer’s Obamacare exit raises new concerns over law

UnitedHealth pulling out of most ObamaCare markets

8 of 11 Obamacare Co-ops Are Failing, 'on Corrective Action Plans'

Trainwreck: Billions Have Been Wasted On Failed Obamacare Exchanges

Even more worriesome, Doctors, Hospitals Say 'No' to Obamacare Plans. Where are ObamaCare subscribers, those who have paid for their plans, going to get the medical services they need?

What a great idea, this ObamaCare. Too bad it just doesn't make financial sense. Of course, that was just one of the many, many concerns expressed by a great many about ObamaCare.

Obamacare: Costs Go Up, Insurers Drop Out and Consumers Get Screwed
Yeah, that's about the size of it.

Actually - he called for it, and Joe Lieberman killed it!

We were *one* freakin' vote away! :(

So obamacare is a resounding failure.
Insurance premiums have yet to go down but continue to climb
Higher. Most of the people that had to get it couldn't use it either
Due to lack of doctors or the cost of the deductible.

So instead of coming up with a better healthcare plan Obama doubles down on stupid.
The government has failed to run healthcare successfully so of course the logical thing to do is completely hand our healthcare over
So that we all end up like Walter reed.

No thanks I value my health more than that and the health of my family.

It was the point all along, they just wanted to ease people into it.

Not just insurance companies, but also big pharma and also the fact that we greatly over pay our specialists here relative to what they would earn in any other country on earth.

Which is why the US has some of the best doctors in the world.
We are number one in medical procedures.

Of course if you want that Doctor that can removed massive tumors from people
You have to pay for it.

Just like a con man would.

See how well the VA runs? Yeah, start conning yourself that you'll like it. It's what government run healthcare looks like, at least here in the US. Far too many dishonest political elites protecting their bureaucrats for anything better.

You must value it a lot being you are willing to pay for more for that healthcare in this country than anywhere else on earth. Healthcare does not adhere to the laws of supply and demand. There will never be a fully privatized way of controlling health costs. Health provider says you need cancer treatment. You say its so expensive though. They say well just die a miserable death then. You say OK guess we got to pay whatever you charge me for this lifesaving care. And that is why you can't just privatize it all. If we ever want to get healthcare costs under control, its going to require a very heavily regulated system.

It was the point all along, they just wanted to ease people into it.

You mean they wanted to try and tank the insurance industry.
To bad they were smarter than the government.
Saw they couldn't make money now they are closing those plans.

Almost all of the co-ops have closed.

No, we have the most expensive healthcare on earth. We don't necessarily have the best outcomes for that health care. Your argument is like saying that Italy builds some of the most expensive cars on earth, no one builds supercars like they do, thus everyone should buy their cars from Italy.

If you are a billionaire, then we got a great system. For everyone else, not so much.

The ACA is a stinking, freakin' failure and there is no way Obama or any of his toadies can spin it to make it anything else. By every measure, the only thing positive that can be said about it is that it didn't kill itself with incompetence. Exchanges have failed, premiums have skyrocketed, care has plummeted. Single payer is pure communism.

The Post Office, the Space Program, The EPA.....need I say more. Our government couldn't run a gold sales office if they were selling the stuff for "fitty-cent" a pound.

When are you slugs gonna get it that you will NEVER get something for nothing for long. Maybe a while, like living in Mom's basement, but not forever, like when she finally kicks yo' mizzable butt out!

Back in the day, people who would have accepted single payer were called mooches. Now they're all Obamacrats.

I pay for the best so I am happy.
My co pays are reasonable and after my deductible I only pay 90%.
No it doesn't because of government they tend to get in the way.

Nope not heavily regulated at all.
You treat it like car insurance along with has type of account to

You pay for your sniffles and boo boos while the insurance only covers you in case of sever
Trama or injury/sickness.

It doesn't take a lot of regulation it just takes a bit of common sense and intelligence.
You would see healthcare costs drop like a rock.

Yes, just like a Politician.

I know all about the VA, never said I supported anything other than maybe Affordable Healthcare, do not ASSUME.

Not a billionaire neither are the majority of people. For the most part the majority
Of people are happy.

However costs continue to rise but there are ways to change those.
To bad Obama didn't think of course he usually doesn't

You mean they wanted to try and tank the insurance industry.

Almost all of the co-ops have closed.

They did not tank the insurance agencies, good grief it is still the most lucrative industry in the US.

Whats company provides insurance for you and your family Ludin?

The costs in our healthcare are not in sniffles and boos, they are in trama, injury, and sickness. You could have everyone paying for their own checkups and you would not do anything to the costs of healthcare overall. For example, it is nothing for 1 chemo treatment just one visit for chemo to run 45k. It is nothing for someone to rack up well over 100k in bills with one heart attack. What pressure are you going to put on those costs simply by going to catastrophic plans with everyone having an HSA?

They did not tank the insurance agencies, good grief it is still the most lucrative industry in the US.

Not the most lucrative, that would be pharma.

You didn't read I said they tried to tank. It is there in black and white so why are you being dishonest in what I said?

Those companies lost 10's of millions on those plans why to you think they are pulling out?

Whats company provides insurance for you and your family Ludin?

Asking for personal information is against the rules of the forum.
All I will say is that they are good and I don't have to worry.
