Selling your soul to the devil comes to mind.It seemed like a typical day for President Obama. He taped a TV interview on trade, hosted the champion NASCAR team on the South Lawn and met with the defense secretary in the Oval Office.
Not so typical was something that didn’t appear that day on the president’s public schedule: notification to Congress that he intends to renew a nuclear cooperation agreement with China. The deal would allow Beijing to buy more U.S.-designed reactors and pursue a facility or the technology to reprocess plutonium from spent fuel. China would also be able to buy reactor coolant technology that experts say could be adapted to make its submarines quieter and harder to detect.

No deals on limiting Nukes, as the US has with Russia.
Thoughts are?
China is the only strategic threat to the US.Doesn't make sense, does it JF. Especially after he was a bit upset last year that China was given a port in Djibouti. Now they are being given a military base there.
Moreover.....they are also trying to set up a Naval Base in the South Atlantic.

Why sell technology that will come back to bite you in the ass.
It is ffn stupid.
To make matters worse, China is overtaking the US as the economic supper power.

Greetings, Born Free. :2wave:
According to the IMF, China officially became the world's largest economy on December 5, 2014. Stay tuned for further news on what this might mean for the US.....
First of all China has only 250 nuclear warheads, far fewer then the U.S. or Russia and as yet have not chosen to compete on a warhead basis. You might be asking why China doesn't ask us to reduce our count which is now 7300! As far a strategic secrets are concerned, China has the ability to steal them just like Russia did. I doubt we are giving away anything they don't already have. Peaceful use of nuclear power is in the interests of the entire world and China is now the #1 emmitter of Co2, most of it from coal. anything that will help them transition to cleaner power generation is a good thing. A wise man said "Keep your friends close but your enemies closer". This deal seems to follow those words.

Nixon opened up China. US manufacturers have been using China for industry since the early eighties, making handsome profits. There really is no reason to hold China in this adversarial posture. I suppose the defence industry is licking their chops at the prospect of war with China.
The snake strikes when you least expect it. Yeah Pearl Harbor never happened, nor did 9-11 and China has never flexed it's mussel nor is the middle east in flames and Iran it not on the march along with Russia. Say nothing of WWI and WWII. But one never knows, well I take that back, some think they always know.
Why do those things unrelated to China require an adversarial relationship between us and them, hmm?

Nothing, but today's friend may be your next adversary. And I'm not calling China a friend. Thus the constitution requires a defense from any adversary no matter the conditions at the moment and to provide for the safety of it's people. Thus a strong military, that has proven to be necessary. Do you not agree?.

Mornin Monte. :2wave: What do you do when China makes an issue adversarial.....would you tuck tail and run? Not stick up for ones own self? Kowtow and show how you can manage talks with smiles and playing to the camera?
Is it always bend over and kiss other countries asses? Allows someone to **** the country over. Is that what you would give into?
Just what would cause you.....to ever stick up for yourself and your country?
Morning buddy. I didn't feel threatened by Hussein, Gaddafi, Assad, Putin or Xi (Jinping). Maintaining adversarial relationships may be good business for the MIC, but it's not any good on a humanitarian level. And what issue has China made adversarial with the US?

Good morning, Montecresto. :2wave:
Our media is responsible for fomenting this, and I wonder why! This is :bs:
That's not what you were asked Monte. But it was a nice sidestep. Just sayin.
No side step, you accused China of making adversarial issues with the US. What would that be?
Mornin Monte. :2wave: What do you do when China makes an issue adversarial.....snip~

Hi there Polgara! Well in part, we have allowed our media to become investors in the defence contractors industry!
