New York City may need to bury coronavirus victims in a local park as hospital morgues and refrigerated trailers parked outside hospitals reach capacity, City Councilman Mark Levine tweeted Monday.

This is the first thing I’ve read about COVID-19 that disturbs me. If anyone out there isn’t taking this seriously yet then read this. Mass graves in NYC parks aren’t a reality yet but they are a sobering possibility.

It isn’t fear mongering at all. We were told that NYC has a total morgue capacity of 900 bodies minus current occupancy when this crisis began. As of yesterday, NYC alone has already had 2,472 COVID-19 deaths and people don’t stop dying of other causes. The morgues are full and it’s only a matter of time until the refrigerated trucks they brought in to supplement the morgues are full too.
