[NSFW]Porn Before Puberty | Nightline | ABC News

So you oppose something because you imagine it's done co-ed?

Did you not go to school?

They separate the boys and girls when they approach sex-education. Girls get the topic when its focused on their biological and peer-pressure issues. Boys get the same. And the girls are taught by females. The boys are taught by males.

They didn't have sex-ed at my school. Regardless, it's still not appropriate for a classroom setting.

I certainly never did things like you describe. And I'm not aware of anyone who did. Again, your own experiences have warped your view of what is normal.

Yeah, I never did that either and I can't say I know anyone that did.

So you were sexually abused, and you engaged in sexual activity with your friends. I don't mean to be insulting, but I think there may be a connection there.

The view that pre-pubescent children having sex is acceptable is dangerous. Again, nine year olds giving each other blowjobs is not normal. As your own case shows, it shouldn't occur to children to engage in that type of behavior unless they've been molested.

As in "no one should touch you down there"? That's fine, but "sex ed" is not.

P.S. You're stonewall, right?

That IS sex Ed. Understanding how it all works is routine human behavior too. Ask any kid who grew up on a farm.

Never, if you want to look for yourself, I'll send you a copy of a federal background check, of course with personal info like SSN and my name redacted. Hell, I'll even post it on here for you lemmings to see. Not only that, I actually hate pedos, I want to hunt them down and exterminate them, so how can I be an apologist for them?

This sounds like lip service given what you've already said.

It's from ABC News so everything that matters is blurred out but its still not suitable for work imo.

If you have kids, or are going to have kids, you need to be aware of this. This is exactly the type of reason, among many, that I won't let my kids have their own cell phones or get on the computer without me being able to watch what they're doing at all times. But unfortunately no one can be around their kids 24/7 once they start school and start getting more independent. At the very least TALK to your kids about this stuff. I didn't realize that it was starting at such a young age for this type of stuff but now I do and am going to be taking appropriate steps as best I can. The wide use internet age has really changed how this stuff should be handled.

It's certainly a different world out there. Posted this to Facebook about a month ago (from a different ABC):

Growing Up in Pornland: Girls Have Had It with Porn Conditioned Boys

"[I want] better education regarding sex for both boys and girls [and] information about pornography, and the way it influences harmful sexual practices."

These are the words of Lucy, aged 15, one of 600 young Australian women and girls who took part in a just-released survey commissioned by Plan Australia and Our Watch. The survey, conducted by Ipsos, gathered responses from the girls and young women aged 15-19 in all states and territories.

In the survey report, entitled Don't send me that pic, participants reported that online sexual abuse and harassment were endemic. More than 80% said it was unacceptable for boyfriends to request naked images.

Sexual bullying and harassment are part of daily life for many girls. Young people are speaking out more and more about how these practices have links with pornography - and so they should, because they have most to lose. . . .

Asked "How do you know a guy likes you?," a Year 8 [12-13 years old] replied: "He still wants to talk to you after you suck him off." A male high school student said to a girl: "If you suck my dick I'll give you a kiss." Girls are expected to provide sex acts for tokens of affection. A 15-year-old told me she didn't enjoy sex at all, but that getting it out of the way quickly was the only way her boyfriend would settle down and watch a movie with her.

I'm increasingly seeing Year 7 girls who seek help on what to do about requests for naked images. Being asked "send me a picture of your tits" is an almost daily occurrence for many. "How do I say 'no' without hurting his feelings"? girls ask.

As the Plan Australia/Our Watch report found, girls are tired of being pressured for images they don't want to send, but they seem resigned to how normal the practice has become. Boys use the images as a form of currency, to swap and share and to use to humiliate girls publicly.

Year 7 girls ask me questions about bondage and S&M. Many of them had seen 50 Shades of Grey (which was released on Valentine's Day). They ask, if he wants to hit me, tie me up and stalk me, does that mean he loves me? Girls are putting up with demeaning and disrespectful behaviours, and thereby internalizing pornography's messages about their submissive role.

It is completely impossible to stop your children looking at porn, even if they have no cell phones...because their friends will.

You cannot swing a dead cat on the Internet without seeing nudity/pornography.

And frankly, trying to stop kids from doing something non-violent is counter productive sometimes. Take me? When I was a teenager, if someone told me I could not do something, I instantly wanted to do it more then before I found out I could not. And my friends felt the same way. It's human nature, IMO.
Telling a teenager they cannot do something is the best way to guarantee they will eventually do it.

I say explain the situation and let them decide, because in 2016, it is IMPOSSIBLE to stop your children from watching porn/nudity if they really want to (unless you chain them to their beds).
Absolutely impossible.

I certainly never did things like you describe. And I'm not aware of anyone who did. Again, your own experiences have warped your view of what is normal.

I rather suspect that your perspective is the less normal one ;) My mother was a very conservative Christian, and I was a Christian all throughout my teens; I must've been 8 before I asked her (having encountered the concept in the Bible) what sex was and she told me "It's when a man and a woman lie in bed together naked." I remember at one stage being surprised by - and authoritatively correcting - some classmates who somehow held a mistaken impression that there was more to it than that :doh (I'm sure Mum was thanking God that I hadn't got round to reading Ezekiel 23:17-21 yet!)

But even I managed to have my first orgasm by age 14, unintentionally; no-one had told me that playing with my bits was wrong, and it felt kind of nice... and then it felt really nice. And even before that, a little naked fooling around at sleepovers was really no big deal, at least until people told me that it was something to be ashamed of. Different kids will have have different experiences and some will 'go further' than others, but being curious about your own and others' bodies is the most natural thing in the world - even animals manage it!

The best possible way to guarantee teen pregnancies and higher abortion rates is to make contraceptives hard to access and leave it solely up to bashful parents to educate their kids about sex.

I find it hilarious that the Utah is the number one state for porn consumption. It's more often than not that those who cry out again something are the biggest consumers of what they're denouncing. If Paleocon had his way, he would have a lot of Mormons in prison.

sheltering your kids is a surefire way to prepare them for 0/10 curve-balls life will throw them after they leave the nest.

Internet porn could practically be eliminated if the government put its mind to it.

If internet had no more porn, there would be only one site left called www.bringbacktheporn.com ;)
Btw it's not as easy as you think, a lot of porn sites are based on servers outside of the US. And with onion routers things get even more complicated.

As I said, I don't know anyone who engaged in sexual activity before adolescence. And I doubt that I'm in some special part of the country.

Of course, by sexual activity I mean between multiple people. Masturbation is of course an entirely different matter.

Pagan religions should be illegal.

Then filter incoming content.

Anything that I disapprove of and don't like should be illegal.

Then filter incoming content.
Fixed it.

How ? It's much more complicated than what you think. The key isn't prohibition, but education.

I'm not familiar with the technical details, but just require ISPs to refuse to transmit pornographic content (there are computer programs that can detect it), and blacklist foreign sites that try to send it. Or for that matter just use a whitelist system.

It's why I've mentioned for years now that all we need to stop this is place all porn with an .xxx instead of .com This way all parents, search engines can block it, simple and easy to do.

But no one gets this..

How would that be accomplished? Who are the "we" ? What about people who wish to watch legal porn? There is a civil rights issue here. Porn has always been with us and will always be with us.

Probably because it is impossible to accomplish, did you know that the most popular porn sites in the world are based in Canada, therefore would never have to abide by that law.

So age was the only thing? Thats a crock, if you're old enough to understand be consequences of what your doing, then you're old enough to consent to the activity in question

That is the thing... children under a certain age can't consent because they are too young to actually understand what the consequences are...

Oh so I'm a pedophile to believe j personal responsibility? Its ****s like you thats the problem with the world.

Children are terrible at personal responsiblity... that is why they have parents that make decisions for them. Pretty basic psychology dude.

Being able to think for myself makes me a threat to society?

You are not thinking too well here because the point is not you thinking... it is you thinking that a ten year old can consent to sex. It shows you don't have a ****ing clue and that makes you, yes... a threat.

Pagan religions should be illegal.

Why? Because they're not Christian? That they're more open minded? Or to deny the old gods the worship they deserve? Or what? Did I miss a reason? When did freedom of religion become eliminated from the first amendment? And what religion should be next? Islam? Judaism? Buddhism? Shinto? Hinduism?

First of all, this report is like... 20 years too late. Kids are looking at internet porn? Thanks for the news flash!

Porn is contentious but I think the way the report characterizes its viewership is akin to blaming video games and violent TV for children's behavior. Seems like a bit of a witch hunt. Also, the idea that children can't "process it" properly, yet adults supposedly can, is also a bit farcical. It's not like it doesn't warp adult brains too. There are people out there who watch so much porn that even when they enter a relationship with a real human being, they can't live without it or get off without it. And there are those who have consumed so much porn that they don't know how to engage in natural sexual relationships because all their sexual queues come from a script. So yeah... porn can negatively affect anybody, not just kids.

Kids are sexual, whether or not we want to admit it. The issue here should not be suppressing young sexuality, but protecting them from perverts and pedophiles. The internet is like a window into my home and I want to know that my kids aren't doing anything dangerous, which is why we've had many open and honest talks about it, including porn. IMO the main reason kids get up to no good is because the parents are too prudish to have "the talk". If you don't have "the talk" then they'll just get their education elsewhere -- and they probably will anyway, but having parental input floating around their brain is still a big help.

Because they worship false deities.

I watched the video in this thread about a week ago. It made me sad. I had no words. I still have no words (sort of)...
I can kind of relate to her, in a way...
